I can't believe I landed myself in another party after the last one went haywire. I tried to suppress the trauma of my abortion and abandonment of someone I was highly into, but the night turned out to be me taking care of my friends instead.
I won't let this night be the same. As I stepped onto Liz's porch, I thought about how maybe I could use this night to forget about all the bullshit, maybe even get lucky, but only if they have protection on them.
Liz opened the door to which the others were already inside. Ava was arguing with Angel, for what?
I put my coat away in the closet and listened.
Ava was speaking defensively. "Don't be mad Angel. We just thought tonight should be like the one at my house, except you know, less messy?" She said as she walked past me, searching through the liquor cabinet. "I'm sorry I invited others."
I sat on the couch and continued to listen. "This is for my birthday though, what if I don't want half the school to come?" Angel responded angrily. "And it's February with snow and ice outside! You really think all of those people are going to risk driving on dangerous roads to come here?"
I saw Sapphire squeeze her hand. "Relax Angel, it will be fun. Things will be fine." She said softly.
"I mean, she's right. This will be a night to remember!" Liz started to say as she poured shots from the vodka bottle Ava took out. "And a high school party in the middle of winter? People don't care, they'll show up for the booze."
She does have a point; Senior year is almost over, and we're almost done experiencing the best of it. Why stop now?

About an hour had passed by before Liz's house was full of almost the same people from Ava's party earlier this year. I'm feeling pretty tipsy as I watched Liz be busy hosting and giving out drinks. Ava is next to me on the sofa taking shots while Sapphire is cuddled up next to Angel.
"I'm so fucking glad you know who decided to not show up. My god I would off myself." Ava said as she downed her fourth shot. I had no idea who she was talking about.
"Ava, if he showed up, you already know me and Liz would shoo his ass out the door asap." She said in a slight slur.
"Baby... can you pass the blunt?" Sapphire said as she lifted her head from Angel's shoulder. I giggled at how ridiculous she looked being crossfaded. I just hope this doesn't turn into how it did a few weeks ago, that's how she ended up in a sling.
Sapphire took a hit of the blunt and handed it to me before she started to make out with Angel. Damn, the drinks must really be flowing for them now.
"Angel, my god go find a room." Ava said, slightly disgusted. "I was just talking about how much I regret having sex with Derek earlier this year. I really don't want you two making out next to me to remind me of it."
I was so confused. "You what?" I asked, shocked.
Her face got red, but before she could respond, Angel pitched in.
"I'm sorry Ava, I really didn't mean to offend you. Derek was an asshole but maybe you should get laid tonight by someone else. Don't let that asshole be your last memory of it."
At first she gave her a blank stare, then it turned into a slight smirk. "You know what Angel, you're right. I won't let Derek be my last memory of that, and it being so regretful. I'm going to find someone tonight that won't be so bad."
She chuckled and gave her a pat on the back. I already know who I'm going to get with tonight." She said as she got up from the sofa and headed towards Seth. I always knew Ava had a thing for athletic men, but this one she invited seems different, more nice.
