Damon was hammering a piece of wood to the window where Frederick and Beth-Anne broke into the night before. He was in the living room with Elena and Stefan. "I say we go to Pearl's, bust down the door and annihilate the idiot that attacked us last night," Damon proposed, angry at the tomb vampires.

"Yeah? And then what, turn to the rest of their house of vampires and say, oops, sorry?" Stefan pointed out the floor in his plan. Damon shrugged.

"I can't believe you made a deal with her," Elena commented, annoyed at the older vampire.

"It was more like a helpful exchange of information. It's not like I got a choice. She's scary, just ask Rapunzel, she was there. Besides, she's gonna help me get Katherine back," Damon told the couple.

"Of course, she is. Damon gets what he wants, as usual, no matter who he hurts in the process," Elena commented, clearly annoyed.

"You don't have to be snarky about it," Damon spoke to which Elena replied with, "I woke up this morning to learn that all the vampires have been released from the tomb. I've earned snarky."

"Ugh. How long are you gonna blame me for turning your birth mother into a vampire? Rapunzel forgave me instantly for killing an innocent man in front of her," Damon pointed out.

"I'm not blaming you, Damon" Elena claimed as Damon sat down on a chair, "I've accepted the fact that you're self-serving psychopath with no redeeming qualities."

"Ouch," Damon commented sarcastically, not really caring what Elena said.

"This isn't being very productive. We're gonna figure out a way to deal with Pearl and the vampires, yeah?" Stefan asked. Damon stood up and walked out of the room not saying a thing. He headed upstairs, wanting some positive talk for once.

Not knocking, he opened Rapunzel's door and started talking, "You wouldn't believe what Elena just called me downstairs." But then he saw that her bed was made as if she hadn't slept there last night. He then looked in his room, but she wasn't there either. So, he checked the kitchen, the garden, even Stefan's room but she was nowhere to be found. Once again, he entered the living room where Stefan and Elena stood still having a chat, but he interrupted them by asking, "Do either of you know where Rapunzel is?"

"No, last time I saw her was last night, she was reading on the porch," Stefan claimed. The two then followed Damon as he went outside to check, but she wasn't there. However, what was there was a copy of Coriolanus by William Shakespeare closed without a bookmark in it on the wet porch floor.

Damon turned his head towards the two, before pointing out, "She's not here, and she would never willingly leave a book on the ground, let alone without a bookmark. Someone took her, and my guess is, they were here last night and took her for revenge."

"The tomb vampires," Elena realized aloud.

It felt like forever to Rapunzel before she saw light. She didn't know this, but she had been hidden in the boot of a car for the whole evening plus the morning as Frederick waited for Pearl and Anna to leave.

Taking the blonde girl had been an impulsive move made by the tomb vampire. When he sped out after the Salvatores drove a stake through Beth-Anne's heart, he saw her lying there asleep on the bench, and he remembered overhearing Pearl and Anna talking about how a blonde girl meant a lot to Damon, so he took her, compelled someone to give him their car, before shoving her in the boot and parking it not too far away from the house the vampires were residing in. He didn't know what to do with her yet, however she wasn't a vampire, so he would use her as a human blood bag for a while before draining her of her blood when he got bored, effectively killing the girl
