Elena was walking towards her front door on the phone with Stefan. She had taken a small detour towards the school to get her spear change if clothes, but it wasn't there. "I looked everywhere," Elena told Stefan, talking about her clothes.
"What do you think someone stole it?" Stefan confirmed his girlfriend's thoughts from the other side of the phone call.
"Yeah, someone definitely took my stuff," Elena confirmed, stopping just by the door, not yet entering as she continued to talk to Stefan.
"Want me to pick you up?" Stefan offered, confused why someone would take Elena's clothes.
"I'm just gonna check on Jeremy and possibly Rapunzel if she's here before I go to the hospital, can you meet me there?" Elena suggested, fishing her keys out of her pocket.
"You bet," Stefan agreed. Elena smiled, realizing how much she loved Stefan as he would always be there for her and do what's in her best interest.
"Okay, I love you Stefan," Elena admitted, and Stefan returned her sentiments before they hung up. Elena, finally having found her keys, unlocked the door, and entered her house. She goes up to the stairs, shouting up, "Jeremy? Are you up?"
When she gets no response, Elena shrugs it off, before she hears a noise coming from the kitchen, and slowly approaches the room, assuming it was Jeremy making food or something similar. But no, Elena was immediately greeted with the sight of John Gilbert bleeding out on the floor, a bloody knife laying away from his body. She rushed over to her uncle, or technically father, and tries to stop the bleeding by applying pressure. While searching for her phone to call an ambulance, she spotted Rapunzel unconscious a few meters away.

When Rapunzel woke up, she saw that she was laying on a hospital bed. Thankfully, it was amazing timing as a nurse entered the room with a chart. Seeing the girl was awake instead of passed out, the nurse smiled brightly at her. "Thank Heavens you are awake; you know we were starting to get worried about you."
"What happened? Where is John?" Rapunzel asked, still in shock and not knowing what happened that it was necessary to go to a hospital.
"Seems as though someone attacked you and Mr Gilbert. Luckily, you only got knocked unconscious, but it's more than likely you suffered from a concussion, so when you go home, you need to rest and avoid stress. If any symptoms pop up that you think are serious or are unusual, come back. Other than that, your free to leave. And your friend Mr Gilbert is also fully recovered, just needs to stay overnight for observation."
"Thank you," Rapunzel breathed out, relieved. Her kind immediately went to worse scenarios after seeing Elena, who must have been Katherine, chop off John's fingers. But no, the vampire had just knocked her out, nothing else. But why? Why not kill her or at least injure her to send a message. But the blonde had no time to dwell on that. She just had to leave and find one of her friends, because she was fatally out of the loop. So, she just up and left, already in her own clothes, and having left her phone at the Gilbert house.
