Rapunzel was planning to stay in bed all day as she texted Teddy and Brie all day, but she was interrupted by Damon storming into her room, demanding that she join him at some sort of event which the Historical Society was hosting. Originally, she refused, until Damon told her Elijah would be there, and she missed the Original, so she agreed to go. She texted Brie, wanting to know what she should wear and the girl had amazing fashion sense, and knew parties, so Rapunzel texted pictures to Brie (which Teddy showed her how to do) and she told the blonde to go with a beautiful blue dress with daisies on it, alongside some pretty pink flat shoes. She then left with Damon, excited for the event, not knowing what the vampire's true intentions were.

Earlier that day...

amon led Alaric into the living room of his house, making sure that Rapunzel was upstairs in her room, unable to hear his plan.

"So, John Gilbert gave me this to kill Elijah," Damon revealed the dagger, unrolling it from a protective cloth, "Said you have to dip the dagger in the remains of an old white ash tree that dates back to the Originals, if there's any truth in that." Damon handed the dagger to Alaric, who took it and inspected it, finding that it just looked like a normal dagger.

"So you think it's a set up?" Alaric asked, not seeing how the dagger could kill Elijah, seeing how it looked like nothing special.

"It could be. Guy's a weael, wouldn't put anything past him," Damon claimed while turning his back on the teacher to go towards the bar. He started pouring a drink as he asked, "What are you up to today, Mr Saltzman?"

Alaric stopped inspecting the dagger to walk over to the bar with Damon, the vampire turned around to face him as the hunter answered, "Well, Jenna and I were supposed to go to her family's lake house, but somehow, we both got roped into doing this Historical Society thing at the Lockwoods." If Damon cared about the two's relationship, he would've felt bad for Alaric, who hadn't really had any time alone with his girlfriend since they got together.

"Where Elijah's the guest of honor," Damon remembered his conversation with Andie, not long before. Alaric handed Damon back the dagger, finding no use for it.

"Tell me your not gonna kill him at the tea party," Alaric pleaded, not in the mood to deal with an angry Original when Damon inevitably failed.

"No, that would be stupid," Alaric gave him a skeptical look, not believing the vampire, prompting Damon to expand, "I want to know his endgame before I kill him, but I do think it's time that Elijah and I officially met." Damon tapped Alaric with the dagger with a smirk, as the hunter just looked annoyed at the vampire.

"And you're not worried, at all, that he will kill you if you try to question him?" Alaric pointed out, seeing the major flaw in Damon's thoughts. Elijah was unpredictable, and if Damon threatened him, like Alaric assumed he would, who knows how Elijah could retaliate.
