Third person pov:
-----------------------------"What the hell happened here?!" Damon demands looking at the mess of the former living room.
He takes a threatening step when Paul doesn't answer immediately but stops as his father Dean Ross, who appears passively aggressive himself, puts a hand on his shoulder. Damon growls in frustration, his agitation clear as he runs his hand through his hair.
"Tell me, dammit!"
Paul musters up the courage to face the family of the girl his boss loves more than life itself, the sweet girl who he has let down due to his own fucking stupidity.
"Miss Ray is missing since this afternoon. According to cctv footage last she was seen was getting in a cab in front of the building."
"Getting in a cab? And that too alone? Why the fuck would she do that? She has someone with her all the fucking time and aren't you the one who drives her around?" Damon barks.
Paul shakes his head, "I do but there was some problem that required all my available men at that moment. She was right here when we went upstairs. I never once thought she would leave without even informing anyone."
He should have thought of it though. He should have realised that something was terribly wrong when he saw her sitting at the bottom of the stairs instead of being with King and when he saw her blank eyes and that faint bruise around her neck but he choose to ignore it because he thought caring for his boss was more important when he should have first taken care of the person his boss lives for.
Fuck
He should have done many things differently but now is not the time for self loathing, he would deal with it later.
"What do you mean by some problem?" It's Dean who speaks this time, his voice mix of menace and danger, he doesn't need to shout to make his voice heard, the small whisper is forceful enough to send lesser men to their knees.
Paul doesn't know how much they know or if they even know anything and doesn't want to talk about it, knowing well King prefers to keep it that way but he can't possibly not tell Miss Ray's family about it when it could probably be the reason why she went out, alone and unprotected in the first place.
"Young master, I mean, King sometimes gets violent episode," He motions his hand around the room as if to make a point before continuing, "Which can get harder to control. This afternoon when we returned home and saw this, I told Miss Ray to let me handle it but she refused and asked me to leave. I don't know what happened but then she called and asked me to bring sedative and other guys along. She was sitting right there when I arrived and went upstairs. It took us more time than we expected to get King under control and when we came back down she had already left. We tried to reach out to her but she wouldn't pick up her phone, after a while it was switched off. We checked the cctv footage and saw the recording of her leaving in a cab, since then we have been trying to track the cab and her phone. We even reached out to everyone she knows here in hope to find some clue but there hasn't been any useful information."
"Is that why you sent that guy to us?" Damon inquired.
Paul nods, casting a glance at Mark who is standing at the corner with a stoic expression that's probably hiding the similar guilt he must be feeling, "Yes. We thought you would be the first person she would go to since you were supposed to meet her tonight but tracking the cab, we realised that she never went anywhere near you at all. After hours of tracking we still don't know where she is trying to go and that leads to another suspicion."
"What is that?"
"She may have been kidnapped." Paul speaks quietly, wishing to all the Gods listening to not let it be true but feeling his gut telling him otherwise.
