Romero
............The bald one, Sean leads us to an elevator that stops at the top floor. He motions us to follow him.
Just as I look around the empty corridor wondering if there are other people, my eye catches a shadow. It disappears inside one of the door. I can't be sure but I think it was a woman.
This places gives me a strange vibe, not exactly negative but a kind of dark ones that I have faced only few times before.
I used to be the type who depended on logic more than any instinct I might have. Logic, numbers were more than enough to make a decision.
But ever since meeting Ray, I haven't been ignoring my guts as I would have done before.
And my gut is saying this is not a place many can have control over.
While that is not a problem since I have no qualm about taking over control, I trust Dante.
And that screams volume.
We stop outside a double door, Sean knocks and testing my patience, he waits until he hears the permission to enter, only then he opens the door.
The door closes behind us as we enter the massive room. I notice Sean has followed us inside.
There is a huge table in the middle whose other side a man is sitting with his legs crossed, eying our movement, behind him are two men standing and two other on the corner of the room.
"Make yourself comfortable King. Although you didn't have to come, you know I would have done it."
Dante chuckles, "I know but my nephew wanted to see if you got it right."
"You doubt me?" There is dark humor behind his voice.
"You know I don't. My nephew here, is worried for his girl and he just wanted to make sure."
Dark onyx eyes come to mine, "Romero King. Heard about you. Though you seem young for the things you are famous for."
I see.
I smirk, "Can't say the same since I didn't know your name until few minutes back, regardless you seem old."
Dante barks out a laugh, "Always a smart ass."
He can't be older than thirty and women may find him good looking too if they dig into dangerous and outlaw type.
He probably know it as well but I'm sure he wasn't expecting my answer.
If my guess is right, he is not the type to take insults lightly, even as a joke.
Too bad.
His men in room go stiff while his eyes narrow, as if he could intimidate me.
He goes to say something but the room bursts open cutting him off, and a woman who seems in her mid twenties breezes in.
"Gabe, I got the file you asked for---- Oh." Spotting us, she stops speaking.
I can't help but notice the way all of Victor's men have hung their head low as soon the woman entered, keeping their eye firmly on ground or the way Victor's own expression has changed.
I doubt he is even aware of.
His face has changed completely, he is staring her as if he were on a hunt and has found his favourite prey. His eye taking every bit of her, making note of every fucking notion.
