Madhu's POV :

When Sharadha Ma and my father brought up the idea of our engagement, a strange mix of emotions surged through my body—happiness, nervousness, and fear all intertwined. My heart pounded in my chest. I couldn't express my emotion in front of my family. So , I excused myself, telling my family that I needed some air, and I ran towards the backyard. Stopping on the porch near the railing, I held it tightly. "Are you blushing, Mrs. Vasudevan Prabakaran?" my brother's voice came from behind me. I couldn't help but blush, and I swear I turned red. Turning around to face him, he walked towards me with a smile and hugged me. "Congratulations, I am so happy for you!" he said, pulling away from the hug.

I chuckled nervously. "What's wrong?" he asked. Closing my eyes, I sighed, "I am nervous... I don't know what to do," I admitted, my voice shaking. My brother held my hands reassuringly. "Listen! Everything will be okay! So, do you have any objections?" he asked, raising his brows. Of course not. My answer would always be yes until my last breath. He is my world, and I can't even imagine a life without him. But I wanted to know if he is ready for this. "Madhu! I am waiting for your answer," my brother's voice brought me back to reality. I cleared my throat, "K! Of course, it is yes, but you should have asked him first," I said.

He smiled. "I know what his answer is, now I know yours too," he said with a smile. I sighed. "I want to talk with him; I want to know whether he is ready," I said, leaning on the railing. My brother's phone started to ring; he took his phone and disconnected the call. "Answer it!" I insisted. He shook his head. "It's from Isobel," he said. "Answer it! If it's not an emergency, she won't call you," I suggested, and he nodded. He answered the phone and stepped aside. As I waited, I began to contemplate how to start the conversation with Vasu. "He's ready! Why are you making this much drama? Go and speak with him!" my inner me shot me back . I smiled to myself, wrapped my arms around me, and started to rub them together because it was freezing outside.

After finishing the call, my brother came near me and said, "I need your help." I narrowed my eyes at him, asking, "For choosing your dress for tomorrow's function?" with a smile. He scoffed, "No, regarding a case. Before you ask anything, it's not a request; it's an order from your captain Isobel. She needs your opinion on a case." With a smile, I asked, "When do we start?" He smiled back, saying, "Definitely, we can't work here because the function preparations will be start in a while. So, we will go to Vasu's home." I nodded. I told him that I needed to be alone and clear my head to talk with Vasu. He nodded and left.

Turning around towards the railing, I enjoyed the view of the mountains and the clouds passing through them. The moonlight was falling over it, reflecting all over the place, and the stars in the sky were twinkling. I started to drown in deep thought when I heard his voice from behind me. "Are you enjoying the scenery alone, sweetheart?" I smiled.

Vasu's POV :

I made my way towards the backyard, and I saw Karan approaching me. I was ready to express my frustration since I had explicitly told him not to leave her alone for even a second. But before I could speak, he said, "She is fine! No trembling, no shivering..." He paused, and I raised one of my brows. He smiled, "Yes! She is shivering because of the cold, and to add, she is very nervous too."

I sighed and chuckled. "Are you blushing?" he asked. I smiled, "Stop and tell me what she said?" I asked nervously. He scoffed, "Get you answer by yourself, and I need both of you to come to your house after you're done with your conversation. Isobel called; we have a case. Before you guys leave for tomorrow, we have to finish this as soon as possible. In the meantime, I will start my work from m side," he said.

I furrowed my eyes "Both? Care to explain?" I asked. He released a deep sigh. "You and Madhu. Isobel needs her opinion on this case," he explained. I nodded, saying, "Okay! One good thing for us, so that we can watch her together. So, I can stay beside her!" He nodded, and headed for my house.
