Madhu POV

I was standing in the middle of a forest accompanied by two people, one male and another female. The three of us were running deep into the forest. "What is it?" I asked, panting. The male held my hand and said, "I don't know... just keep running... don't stop!" He didn't let go of my hand. My mind was focused on only one person—Vasu. I couldn't find him beside me. "Where are you, Vasu?" I yelled and kept running, but there was no response. Unfortunately, we were being pursued by a dark grey wolf. It was chasing us. "Do something, guys!" I shouted at them.

They stopped abruptly and started to chant. As a result, a strong energy wave hit the wolf, throwing it a distance away from us. Somehow, it managed to stand on its legs. "Guys! It's not working," I yelled, panting, and we started to run again. Amidst the chaos, I heard a faint voice calling my name. I stopped and turned towards them. "You guys okay?" I asked, and they nodded in response. I thought the voice was theirs, but it wasn't. The female held my hands and tried to drag me, but I didn't move from where I was standing. Once again, the voice came. This time, I recognized the voice. "Sweetheart! It's me! Stop running," the voice urged.

It was the voice I had eagerly been waiting to hear. My heart pounded against my chest. "Vasu!" I whispered. Both of them grabbed my hand, and she exclaimed, "It's following; we have to get the hell out of here!" I jerked my hand from their grip and ran towards the wolf. When I was near it, I stopped, standing just a few feet away. "Madhu! What the heck are you doing? It's trying to hurt us!" she said. I took a step forward and shook my head, almost whispering, "No... it's not." I began walking towards the wolf, and our eyes locked. I felt a spark; I swear, I'm not wrong. Suddenly, a wave of energy travelled behind me and hit the wolf, throwing it away. "Sweetheart! It hurts... tell them to stop it!" Vasu's voice echoed in my ears.

I gasped, and in an instant, I started to chant. As a result, I lifted a protective shield around me and the wolf. The male and female stood outside of the shield. "Madhu! What the hell are you doing? Drop it now!" she yelled at me. I took a step towards the wolf; they both shouted at me not to go near it, but I didn't listen. Once I was near the wolf, I looked into its eyes. "Vasu! … It's Vasu," I shouted and took a step back. The wolf kept its eyes on mine, and I could see a spark of hope in its eyes. They continued yelling at me that it's not Vasu, but I knew. My heart knew it was him. I knelt down and placed my hand on his head. In that moment, his eyes turned into a deep, dark red shade. I gulped. "I know it's you. Please come back to me!" I said. With his eyes locked with mine, he nodded and shifted back to human. During the transformation, I heard his bones breaking. Within a few moments, he transformed back into human, and I gasped. "Sweetheart... it hurts..." he said and fainted .

"Vasu…!" I yelled and woke up. I was sweating profusely. As I opened my eyes, they shifted beside me, instinctively searching for him, but he wasn't there. Then finally the realization hit me—it was a dream. I sighed, my eyes going to the clock; it was almost mid in the night . I called out to my brother, who was sleeping on the sofa, snoring. "Karan! Wake up!" I yelled, but he didn't move a muscle. Frustrately , I grabbed a pillow and threw it over  him. "K... wake the hell up?" I shouted again. Finally , he jerked from the sofa, asking in a sleepy voice, "What happened?". I was  panting "Where is he?" I asked, tears welling in my eyes. My brother stood from the sofa and rushed towards me. "What's wrong? You're trembling!" he asked. I wasn't in the frame of mind to explain; I just wanted to see him. "Please… tell me where is he?" I asked in sobs, my calmness only possible after seeing him.

My brother furrowed his eyes. "Okay, calm down. He might be in the study room…!" he began to say, but I didn't wait for him to finish. Without answering, I ran towards the study room and stood in front of it. I composed myself, then lightly knocked on the door, thinking he might be on a call. I knocked twice and thrice , but there was no answer. Finally , I twisted the doorknob and pushed the door open. And  as my eyes scanned the room. Finally, they fell on Vasu, standing near the window with his back to me, talking on the phone, oblivious to my presence. I couldn't shake off the images of him from my dream; it felt so real—fudging hell real. Without thinking twice, I ran towards him and hugged him from behind. It felt like heaven, and the heaviness that I felt  in my chest, is finally  fading  out. I am relieved to see him in one piece.
