Vasu’s POV
Finally, my girl did a great job, but I know I put her under a lot of stress. While talking to her parents, she even had a panic attack. However, she managed somehow. Suddenly, I noticed something was wrong with her. She started sweating profusely and stuttering while trying to speak. I think her legs were giving up on her, and her head was spinning as well. I quickly moved towards her and grabbed her before she collapsed on the ground.
"Hey... Hey... Madhu... open your eyes, sweetheart... open your eyes!" I yelled, holding her in my arms. Everyone around us was shocked and gathered around. "Give them some air, guys!" Karan said, running towards me. "I told you she wouldn't be able to handle this stupidity! Did you ever listen to me even once..." I cut him off. "Stop! It's not the time to argue now! Should we take her to the hospital?" I asked.
Suddenly, I heard a small moan from Madhu, who was still in my arms. She tightly held onto my shirt collar. "No... roo... m," she gasped. "My... room... please..." she managed to say. I placed my hands on her cheeks. "Madhu... please open your eyes! Babe, please," I pleaded. I rested her head on my shoulder and held her tightly in my arms. She fell unconscious again. I lifted her into my arms and asked her father, "Pappa, can I take Madhu to her room?" He nodded. I went upstairs to Madhu's room and carefully laid her on the bed, making sure she was secure. I sat by her side, holding her hand, and Talia accompanied me into the room.
My intention was never to hurt her, only to make her happier. But as a result, she ended up getting hurt, and it's all my fault. I turned my head towards Talia, who was sitting beside her. "Talia! Can I be alone with Madhu? Please!" I asked, and she nodded. I felt alone with Madhu in the room. I slowly removed her ornaments without disturbing her, and carefully took off her shawl that was secured with a pin. I covered her with a blanket and kissed her forehead.
After a while, I heard a small groan escape her lips. Her eyes slowly opened, and her gaze landed on me. I smiled at her. "Vasu... Vasu... please don't leave me alone," she pleaded, tears streaming down her face. She held onto my hands tightly and managed to pull herself up to sit on the bed.
She wrapped her hands around my neck, burying her face in the crook of my neck. "Shhh... Shh... Shh... It's alright," I whispered as I gently caressed her back. I waited until she calmed down. Then, I pulled her slightly away from the hug and cupped her face in my hands. "I am not leaving you, okay!" I reassured her, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead. After my words of assurance, she seemed a little calmer. "Okay! If you're feeling a bit more calm, can I tell you something?" I asked her.
I smiled ‘’ what if I told you …..’’ but she cut me off before I could say anything. "Please... don't say anything. I don't want to hurt my family, and I don't want to lose you either. Please stay with me, Vasu... please..." she pleaded between sobs, holding me tightly in her arms. Oh my god, I had initially planned to prank her and reveal the truth later, but now I couldn't bear to see her in pain. I gently pulled Madhu away from the hug and cupped her face. "Listen, sweetheart! I need to tell you something. After that, you can kick my ass if you want," I said with a smile, wiping away her tears. She furrowed her eyebrows. "What is it?" she whispered, gripping my hand tightly. I rested my head against hers and closed my eyes. "Our families have already agreed to our relationship, sweetheart," I revealed. Madhu jerked back and stared at me in disbelief. "What? When? How did they agree?" she stammered.
I smiled at her. "I know you very well, Madhu. I know that you wouldn't do anything without your family's permission. So, before confessing to you, I spoke to your family and my mother about being in love with you," I explained. I could sense her anger rising. I continued, "Therefore, I proposed to you only after receiving their approval. Even your mother is aware of it." I said this with a smile and a wink. She gasped, "What! You told everyone that you loved me before even telling me?" She pulled her hand away from mine, visibly upset. "Okay, this is the final touch of the drama, sweetheart! It was my plan to prank you by making you believe that our families were against our relationship," I admitted with a wide smile and took a step back.
Madhu's anger reached its peak. "You did that! Seriously! Have you gone mad?" she exclaimed, jumping out of bed. She took a step towards me. "I was scared to death, thinking about what if our families said no to our relationship! But you did this just to make fun of me! Vasu, I am going to kill you!" she shouted, throwing a pillow at me. Fortunately, I managed to catch it. "Sweetheart, please listen to me fully," I pleaded, attempting to move to the other side, but she was fast. She climbed onto the bed, reaching the side where I was standing, and she was almost within reach of me. I quickly jumped and rolled over on the bed, making my way to the other side.
We both were panting, trying to catch our breath. "Madhu, please just listen to me fully," I pleaded, breathlessly. "What?!" she yelled in frustration. "Even your father, your brother, and even Talia know about it," I revealed. Madhu's eyes widened in shock. "What?!" she shouted. I pouted, teasingly. "Yes, sweetheart!" I confirmed, winking at her. She grabbed another pillow and threw it at me, this time hitting me in the face. "Ouch!" I exclaimed. Before I could react, Madhu was standing right in front of me. "I am going to kill you, Vasu!" she declared, starting to hit me with her hand. "Why did you do this to me?" she asked, her frustration evident. With a final touch of mischief, she bit me on the shoulder. "Ouch! It hurts... It hurts!" I shouted in mock pain.
She pulled away from me, anger and frustration evident in her voice. "Let it hurt! Why did you do this to me, you dumbass!" she spat out, raging. Finally, I couldn't let the misunderstanding continue, so I grabbed her hands and pushed her gently against the wall, holding her hands behind her back. She gasped, and my gaze fixed on her. "Listen, sweetheart! I wanted to make your wish come true, so I asked your family's permission first. But I intended to prank you and reveal the truth afterwards," I explained with a sigh. "However, I realize now that it was a mistake, and I'm truly sorry, Madhu," I told her, resting my head against hers and releasing her hands. Madhu wrapped her arms around my neck and sighed. She kissed my cheek, and my hands naturally found their place around her waist. She hugged me tightly, resting her head on my chest. "I'm sorry too, Vasu. I overreacted," she admitted, tightening her grip around my waist.
"Now that we're both a little calmer, we should go and see our family. Everyone is worried about you," I suggested to Madhu as I pulled away from the hug. She let out a sigh and replied, "I'll change and come." I nodded in agreement, and she went to her wardrobe to pick out a night suit before heading to the bathroom. While she was getting ready, I took a moment to survey the condition of the room. Pillows were scattered around, a reminder of the playful pillow fight we had earlier. I smiled and started gathering all the pillows, neatly arranging them on the bed. I sat down on the bed, waiting for Madhu to join me. Finally, the doorknob turned, and she emerged from the bathroom wearing a white top and white pants. I was stunned by her beauty and couldn't help but compliment her. "You look beautiful," I said with a smile, and she returned the smile. Together, we made our way to the living room, where our family members were anxiously waiting. They all started asking about Madhu's well-being, and I assured them that she was fine. I also informed them that I had revealed the prank to her.
Madhu’s POV
I felt a surge of happiness knowing that my family had agreed to our relationship. However, it had been a dramatic journey for me. Lost in my thoughts, I made my way to the living room where everyone began congratulating us. My father signalled for me to come to his side, and I followed him out to the backyard. He placed his hand on my shoulder and asked, "Are you happy?" Ashamed to meet his gaze, I began to sob, my eyes fixed on the ground. He gently lifted my chin with his thumb, sighing softly, and then embraced me tightly. "Beta, why are you crying?" he asked, his hand caressing my head. Clinging to him, I replied amidst my sobs, "I'm sorry, Papa... I never wanted to hurt any of you."
My father gently pulled me away from the hug and cupped my face in his hands. "Who told you that you hurt us, crazy girl?" he said with a smile. "I am incredibly happy that Vasu is your better half and my son-in-law. I am glad that he will support you in every way possible and will be by your side until his last breath." He wiped away my tears and kissed my forehead lovingly. "But first, you need to thank your brother, because he was the one who stood up for you," he added. My eyes widened in surprise. "What? Papa... Brother?" I questioned, seeking clarification. He nodded and went on to explain how my brother had fiercely supported me throughout this journey. I knew my brother loved me deeply, but I had no idea he would go to such lengths for me.
Suddenly door of the backyard opened and our heads turn towards the door ‘’ Pappa …… malathy ma is calling you both for dinner’’ vasu said . His gaze fell on me, noticing my tear-stained face. "Are you still crying?" he asked, and I shook my head, trying to compose myself. My father went inside, leaving me alone with Vasu. He approached me, gently lifting my chin with his thumb and wiping away my tears. Vasu let out a sigh, his brows raised in concern. "Then what is it, sweet heart?" he asked. I explained to him that I had apologized to my father. He opened his arms and said, "Come here, crazy girl." I willingly nestled myself into his embrace, wrapping my hands around his waist and resting my head on his chest. I sighed, finding solace in his presence. He kissed my forehead, and then asked, "Do you want to say something?" I nodded, looking up at him. "What?" he inquired. With a whispered voice, I confessed, "I love you." He said with a smiled ‘’ I love you too’’ .
We remained in each other's embrace for some time, finding comfort in the silence. Eventually, Vasu guided me back inside the house. We sat down for dinner, and since it was already late, Vasu and Sharadha Ma joined us. After we finished eating, I quickly made my way towards my brother, standing in front of him with a pouting face. He looked at me with a smile, anticipating my words. I rolled my eyes playfully and then hugged him tightly. He reciprocated the hug, and I whispered, "Thank you." As I pulled away, he asked, "Why? Not for threatening to kick your ass for loving my partner?" I raised my eyebrows at him, chuckling softly. "No," I replied. "Thank you for standing up for me, for protecting me, and for not allowing anyone to break me into pieces again. And thank you for giving me the best man in the world. I love you."
He seemed on the verge of tears as I expressed my gratitude. "Okay! Vasu is leaving. Go and say goodbye to him... Go, crazy girl... always creating so much drama... Go," he said, playfully teasing me. I laughed at his comment and quickly made my way to Vasu's side. It was time for him and Sharadha Ma to leave, and I helped push the wheelchair towards the exit. Before they departed, I moved to my mother's side and assured her that I would finish Sharadha Ma's physiotherapy session and then return. With her nod of approval, I headed towards Vasu's home. However, I was taken aback by what I saw—the house was spotlessly clean. Determined, I took the wheelchair from Vasu's hand and said, "I will take it from here. You go and freshen up." He nodded in agreement and made his way to his room.
After finishing Sharadha Ma's physiotherapy session, I let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, Ma, I will see you tomorrow," I said, preparing to leave. But she grabbed my arm and pulled me into a tight hug. "I am so happy that you're going to be my daughter-in-law," she said, gently caressing my hair. I hugged her back tightly, feeling overwhelmed with love. "I love you, Ma," I whispered to her. Just then, Vasu spoke up, "She loves me more, Ma." We both pulled away from the hug and turned our heads to see Vasu standing there, his arms crossed over his chest. I rolled my eyes, feeling my cheeks flush with embarrassment. "Okay, she's all yours," Sharadha Ma said, playfully pushing me towards Vasu. I stumbled and collapsed into his arms, feeling his embrace from behind. "Ma is here, take your hands off me," I whispered, trying to suppress a smile. Vasu scoffed, "Not a chance in hell, sweetheart," he whispered against my hair.
I opened my eyes and couldn't help but smile. "I want a picture with both of you," I said. "Okay!" Sharadha Ma replied. I quickly made my way towards her, sitting beside her and wrapping my arms around her in a tight hug. Vasu scoffed playfully, "Who will hug me now?" Both Sharadha Ma and I laughed. "Come and sit down for a picture," she said. Vasu joined us, sitting beside me. My hand rested on Sharadha Ma's shoulder, while my other hand found its place on Vasu's shoulder. Vasu took a few pictures, and I asked him to share them with me later. I gave Sharadha Ma a goodnight kiss, and then Vasu and I left the room, hand in hand.
As we reached the front door, I couldn't bring myself to let go of his hand. Vasu observed me and urged me to go inside and rest. I shook my head, feeling a strong desire to stay connected with him. He pulled me closer, his arm wrapping around me, and he asked me to look at him. With a deep breath, I finally met his gaze. Suddenly, he leaned in and planted a gentle kiss on my nose, making me blush. He took off his jacket and draped it around me, instructing me to keep it and imagine that he's with me. "I'm not going anywhere, nor will I let you go anywhere, Sweetheart," he assured me, kissing my forehead. "Good night, Vasu. Sweet dreams," I whispered, kissing his cheek in return. He gently pushed me inside the house, locked the door, and left, promising to be by my side always.
Third person POV
The woman, who appeared to be around 25 years old, sat in the passenger seat while the man sat in the driver's seat beside her. Their eyes were locked, expressing a sense of urgency and determination. "We have to tell them," the man said with frustration evident in his voice. The woman sighed in response, acknowledging the gravity of the situation. "I know, but for that to happen, these two individuals need to be together forever as one," she replied, emphasizing the importance of their unity.
The man furrowed his brow, clearly confused by the woman's response. "What do you mean?" he pressed, wanting a more detailed explanation. The woman let out another sigh, clearly frustrated with the situation. "First, let's get out of here, and then I'll explain everything," she replied, taking on a bossy tone. The car accelerated and quickly left the area. As they drove in silence, the man grew more impatient. "Speak up! What is going on? We had the chance to tell them what they needed to know! She's in danger," he half-yelled, his concern evident. The woman remained calm, wearing a smile that seemed out of place given the circumstances. "I know, but we have to wait," she finally replied, leaving the man with even more questions.
The man was taken aback by the woman's words and actions. He stepped on the brake, bringing the car to a halt, and turned to her. "What do you mean?" he asked again, his voice filled with confusion and a hint of frustration. The woman let out a scoff, clearly annoyed by the man's lack of understanding. "I mean they have to be together as one, till their last breath. I mean... like soulmates, two bodies and one soul," she explained cryptically. Without waiting for further questions, she exited the car and walked purposefully towards a tall building.
Curiosity getting the better of him, the man followed her and stopped next to her near the entrance of the building. He watched as she closed her eyes, placed her hand on the door, and muttered some incantations under her breath. Suddenly, a bright white light emanated from the door, causing it to open on its own accord. Intrigued and somewhat hesitant, the man and the woman stepped inside the building,
The atmosphere in the office was lively as the woman made calls and coordinated with her team. After a while, two males and two females entered the office, engrossed in a discussion. The room was filled with a sense of anticipation and purpose.
Just then, the office door burst open, and a man dressed in a sharp black suit walked in, slightly out of breath. "Sorry, friends. The traffic was hell," he said, his voice filled with a touch of humor. The room erupted in smiles and laughter at his arrival.
He scoffed, folding his arms against his chest. "Any leads on them, darling?" he asked. With a smile, she replied, "We have found them." The room erupted in cheers. The man in the black suit signaled to the woman, and they moved to the corner of the room. "We don't have much time left. We have to bring them here as soon as possible, darling," he said. She closed her eyes and sighed, "I know! But they have just confessed their feelings to each other. We have to wait and see where this leads." He nodded in agreement.
