CHAPTER NINE
The Cannibal And The Daring

IN THE warm chambers that Princess Jaehaera was supposed to sleep in with her brothers and younger cousins, she stayed awake with that same lingering feeling she has felt while leaving for Dragonstone and arriving on the island. It never seemed to leave her cold skin or fuzzy thoughts.

She tried her best to ignore that feeling. But it wouldn't leave her mind nor her cold and crawling skin. She couldn't take or stand it anymore so she got out of her bed and left the room quietly without waking her siblings and cousins.

Before leaving her shared chambers, Jaehaera wore pajamas, but she quickly changed into a simple golden dress so that she'd be warmer in the cooler night.

As she walked out of the chambers with a changed dress and slip on shoes covering her feet, she still made sure to grab the small dagger that she found on Dragonstone and called hers. Just in case.

While she treaded on the stone that lead outside, making sure the dagger she brought was safe in its small holster around her waist, the chill breeze of the wind blew back her silver hair. The moon reflected of it and made her hair brighter than it usually laid.

The sound of the waves crashing into the island were much louder outside, but not loud enough for Jaehaera to catch that noise.

That sound that she has never heard before in her entire life— but she had heard so many stories about.

The three wild dragons have not to be found, they set under our feet or fly over are heads. Perhaps they don't want to be found.

That's what Jaehaera always heard while growing up in the Red Keep and on Dragonstone. The three wild dragons that have not been seen in many years, since before the Old King's reign.

Looking up at the sky from the low screech, the lingering feeling that Jaehaera has been feeling felt closer than it ever had. She knew it was stupid, and could get herself into a lot of trouble, but she listened to her mind rather than her gut.

Princess Jaehaera took her eyes off the dark and cloudy sky before following the low screeches that were heard further off the beach. The walk was longer than expected— or maybe the shoes she wore weren't meant for walking in the sand.
