CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
Murder She Wrote

132 after the conquest
storm's end

THUNDER CRACKED through the skies of Shipbreaker Bay. The winds made it uneasy for Prince Lucerys to stay steady on his young dragon, Arrax. Even with the rough winds blowing in her face, Princess Jaehaera could tell her little brother was trying his best to keep straight for the Baratheon's castle.

She was going to call out to him over the loud sounds of the flapping dragons wings and winds but she only didn't because she could see Storm's End through the thick and dark clouds.

The Cannibal and Jaehaera let Arrax and Luke land on the outskirts of the castle first, from her saddle she could see guards standing in front of the steps that led inside. She also noticed quickly how the Cannibal would not fit in the courtyard of Storm's End so she quickly pulled her reins up.

And just before her dragon's feet were to land behind Arrax on the wall, the Dragonborn noticed the way he hesitated to fully land from how he hovered over the gravel for a moment and shook his head. But eventually the large and dark scaled dragon lowered himself enough to where his rider then used his wing to climb down instead of the rope ladder attached to the saddle since it didn't reach the ground.

Prince Lucerys dropped from his dragon's saddle first and Princess Jaehaera didn't take long to follow his actions. As she climbed down her dragon's wing, Luke waited for her in front of the small Arrax.

Once her feet touched the ground surface, the Cannibal flew into the air and stayed above Storm's End. Lucerys and Jaehaera met next to each other so they could walk into Storm's End beside one another. But just as Luke approached his sister's side, the sound of the familiar loud growl and short screech caused them to turn— Vhagar sat far from the castle in the mist.

Still, neither of them stopped walking because they had a job to do for their Queen. And Jaehaera still had one more after departing from this castle that she already wanted to leave.

When the two approached the guards in front of the stairs, they all stared at Jaehaera and the black dragon in the sky. "I am Prince Lucerys Velaryon." He then motioned to his sister. "This is Princess Jaehaera Velaryon. We bring a message to Lord Borros from the Queen."

The guards didn't say anything before they sharply turned around and led the two messengers inside. Jaehaera glanced back at Vhagar once more before entering the castle because she knew who was here if the Queen of All Dragons stood there.
