CHAPTER FOURTEEN
The Dragonborn And Her Lightbringer

131 after the conquest
blackwater bay, dragonstone

THE WIND from the Cannibal's large and old wings blew Jaehaera's silver hair behind her shoulders. Behind the Cannibal was Stormfyre and alongside him flew Vermax. Daenaera and Jacaerys were flying together, like they usually did, and Jaehaera didn't stop her dragon from following the pair.

Even if the people living in the castle still aren't very warmed up to the Cannibal— which they probably wouldn't ever be— and were terrified of him, Jaehaera was always by the dragon during her own time.

It has been five years since the Princess rode the deadliest and most dangerous dragon in Westeros for the first time— giving him his first rider in history. And in those five years, she had been trying to figure out a name for him that would make him seem less intimidating at first glance.

The Cannibal was his name because that is what he has been known for— eating his own kind. But Jaehaera also knew and seen things he did, or has done, that would also suit him.

The darkest, deadliest, and most destructive dragon in Westeros that lives on Dragonstone with Jaehaera and her family tended to do other things when he wasn't feasting off dragon eggs in the pit he made on Dragonstone (which Jaehaera had to secretly feed him from time to time). The fire he breathed was green, the most intense color of green that the Princess has ever seen in her life, and he tended to breathe his fire a lot.

More than Jaehaera thought a dragon ever could or would even choose to.

He never burned anything down on Dragonstone, anymore, he only breathed his fire into the air while flying.

It turned the sky a bright shade of green for mere moments when Jaehaera watched him during the hour of the bat or the hour of the wolf.

And every time she saw the green fire shoot from the Cannibal's mouth with a roar to follow it, another name for the dragon came to her mind: Ōñosmaghare. ( Lightbringer )

A name that she often thought of whenever the green fire spilled from her dragons mouth but Jaehaera didn't know why it seemed like a rightful and suiting name, or something else to call him occasionally, but it did.
