Past
I've been avoiding Valentina for days, running in every way possible, hiding inside the house or going out before she arrives, and going to one of my friends' houses. I know it's childish and it might even be silly, but I can't face her, it's all still too confusing for me. From the day she declared herself in love with me, something inside has swayed and now it's out of place.
How could she? We never put up with each other, and she kept being a complete jerk to me over and over again, pushing boundaries. And yet, she says she's been in love with me since the first time we met. Incredible.
- "Luiza Campos!"
- "Fuck, Carol! Do you want to scare me to death?"
I quickly turn away from the window after my sister startles me, and for the first time, I couldn't thank her for being inconvenient. Thanks to her, now I can finally stop staring at the idiot.
- "What a drama little sister. What are you looking at?"
- "Nothing," I answer immediately and position myself in front of the window, trying to stop her by killing her curiosity. "What do you want?"
Carol looks at me, suspicious, but doesn't approach the window, walking towards my bed. I sigh, running my hands through my shorts. I hadn't even noticed they were sweaty. I don't even know what nervousness Albuquerque that causes me, but she confuses me a lot.
- "When you will stop thinking about Valentina, let me know okay?"
- "What?"
- "That's it Luiza, do you think you can fool me? Me, your twin? Forgot that we share the same placenta? I know you."
- "Stop being crazy," I grumble and sit down next to her, who looks at me suspiciously. Before I can ask her what she wants, the crazy woman gets out of my bed and runs to the window.
- "Imbecile and gossip."
- "I knew it! I knew you were staring at Valentina. Why haven't you caught up yet?"
- "You must have gone crazy for good. Do you really think I want anything to do with Valentina?"
- "She's hot," she says matter-of-factly, looking out of the window, and I stare at her in disbelief.
- "Carol?"
- "What? I just told the truth. I'm not blind, much less sleepy, like you."
- "You know what? Tell me what you want and get out of my room."
- "Oh yes, dad asked you to get Valentina water."
- "You can take, I have other works to do."
- "Like staring at the same girl out the window, like a maniac? Take the water, at least to hydrate her. I'm sure she got thirsty from being dried by you."
- "Fuck you!"
- "I will! So, you won't be able to water her." I grimace in disgust, lying down on my bed.
- "Our parents went out with Sarah, and I'm going to meet Roger. Be sensible! Luiza?"
- "What the hell?"
- "Tell me if Valentina's kiss was good."
My eyes almost pop out of their sockets. I sit up on the bed, about to hurl one of my pillows at her, but before I can hit her, the asshole runs out of the room and slams the door, leaving me incredulous and alone.
- "I'll never kiss Valentina Albuquerque," I promise myself, deluding myself, because little did, I know that I would fall in love with that idiot and kiss her days later.
