If I can say that I hate waking up in the middle of the night wanting to drink water and realizing that I forgot to bring the bottle before going to bed, then I will say it, because it kills me. Another thing that catches my attention, besides the missing of the bottle, is the fact that I'm alone in bed. Curious, I take out my cell phone to check the time, and I am not surprised to see that it's three o'clock in the morning.
- "Where is that woman?"
I get out of the bed and pick up on the fluffy robes hanging behind the door. We always leave them there in case we need to leave the room. The house is quiet, but when I get to the stairs, I notice the light in the hallway, which leads to the kitchen, on, and I hear some sounds coming from there.
- "What are you doing awake, at this hour, inside the fridge?"
- "My god, Luiza!" She exclaims and jumps up, pulling half of her body out of there.
I frown and feel like laughing as I notice a red spot on her chin and another on the tip of her nose.
- "Do you want to scare me to death?"
I approach her with crossed arms, without looking away.
- "I want to know what are you doing awake and why are you so inside the fridge. Want to cool down?" It's inevitable not to give her a spurt. Sometimes Valentina actually behaves like a child and not like a woman who has already reached her thirties.
I uncross my arms to wipe her dirty face, apparently from strawberry syrup.
- "You need to stop scaring me like this, because my heart is doing samba in chest."
I let out a giggle because of her exaggeration. This woman can be dramatic when she wants to be.
- "So what? I can scare you whenever I want."
- "Very funny. I felt like eating a cookie with strawberry syrup and cake."
- "I noticed," I scoff and show my fingers dirty with the strawberry syrup I wiped off her face. Valentina presses her lips together awkwardly and looks away from mine.
- "I didn't even realize I was getting dirty."
- "It looks like you didn't have a proper dinner. That cake must be old, you shouldn't eat it. I forgot to throw it away."
- "Nope!" Valentina says and grabs my wrists when I mentioned taking the jar away with that cake. "It's delicious."
- "If you like it so much, I can make another one, but this one is old."
- "Do it now?"
I look at her incredulously and think it's some kind of joke, but the almost childlike glint in her eyes makes me believe she's serious.
- "Please."
I almost can't resist her request. But it turns out I'm sleepy. I just came downstairs to get water and go back to bed.
- "Have you seen the time? I'm tired, but I promise I'll wake you up with a fresh cake, filled with strawberry cream, how about it?"
I close the fridge and approach her, placing my hands on her waist and breaking into a huge smile. Valentina pouts in disappointment, and it automatically makes me lean forward and seal our lips.
She sighs, surrendered, and holds my face in her hands, returning the kiss with genuine passion. I feel her tongue smooth my lower lip and I open my mouth, allowing her to invade it. A breath of air escapes me as my body begins to heat up. The pace of the kiss accelerates, and I know this is the time to stop it.
