Even terrified and confused, I don't think twice when she asks me for help to get to the bathroom. Valentina seems to be about to freak out, but tries to stay calm, perhaps so that neither of us goes into some kind of paralyzing outburst. She takes a quick shower and gets ready just as quickly. I feel like questioning her, but I'm a little afraid of the answer. If it wasn't something serious, there would be no need for us to go to the hospital. It makes me really scared to think that she might be sick or something.

- "Valentina, are you crying?"

I approach her when I return to the room. She's a little hunched over, with her hands on her belly, mumbling some things, which I can't hear, and she looks at me, and her expression breaks my heart into several pieces.

- "We have to wake up the little guy, we can't leave him alone."

- "What's going on Valentina? Tell me, please. I am terrified."

She struggles to swallow her tears and takes a deep breath.

- "I'm too and I very much hope I'm wrong about what it might be." Her speech makes me even more frightened, and I quickly go to my son's room to wake him up. The little guy is stunned and on autopilot as he puts on an outfit and bundles up. He asks what's going on, but I answer that we have to leave for few hours.

I book a car on the app, and luckily it doesn't take long to arrive.

- "The car is waiting for us," I call Valentina into the living room, and she's crying again, but gets up to accompany me.

I make it a point to lock the front door and check to see if we've forgotten anything. When I get in the car, I hold her hand, which is extremely cold and shakes slightly. My heart is tight, I feel like I'll start freaking out soon.

I can't tell you how long it took us to get to the hospital, but it was quick. When we enter, the first thing I ask is that they bring a wheelchair and take her to some urgent care. She says the name of the doctor she knows and in a matter of minutes, she disappears through the doors, but not before giving me a look that will never leave my head.

There is almost no air in my lungs. Finally, the crying comes out of me, causing me to bend over the bench, receiving desperate caress and cuddles from my little son. Again, he asks what is going on, but what do I answer? Even I don't understand. This all sounds like a nightmare and I just hope it's over as soon as possible. I can't lose her, not now that I'm getting her again.

When I calm down, I pick up my phone, call Duda, and then my sister. They react in the same way, and even though I insist that they don't come, the only answer is that they will be here with me in a few minutes. I've been sitting for a few minutes, and Leo is sitting on my lap, clinging to my neck, in front of me, squeezing me tightly with his arms, seeming to feel everything that's going wrong, especially because he doesn't know what really happened to his mother.

- "Lil! My goodness, Luiza, what happened?" I hear Duda's voice suddenly and look in her direction.

Duda arrives, flustered, followed by a grief-stricken Igor, holding Toni in his arms, sleeping. My little one gets off my lap so I can get up, and I don't wait long to throw myself into my best friend's arms and cry all over again.

- "I... We woke up, and there was a lot of blood. Valentina was terrified, but she didn't tell me what's wrong. What's going on, Duda? I can't lose her, please. You know I can't." I shoot, barely breathing, and she clasps me in her arms and strokes my hair, trying to calm me down.

- "You will not lose her; Valentina is going to be fine. Trust me, okay?" She pulls away from me and holds my face making me stare at her, and I nod, trying to calm myself down.
