The day is beautiful. Finally, the leftover winter weather is ending, and sunny days have become more frequent. Or maybe it's just the Miami weather, always hot. I breathe deeply, leaning my head back, feeling the cool breeze hit my body and the sun's rays warm my skin. It's wonderful to feel nature.
- "Take it, son!" Her voice quickly attracts my attention, making me cover my eyes so I can see the two of them. Valentina and Leo are having fun with Duke, under the watchful eye of the Albuquerque too. We came to spend the weekend in Miami, at their request, and it couldn't be better. Unlike the last time we came, now everything is calmer.
- "Run, Duke! Run!" Leo exclaims, running alongside the huge dog while kicking a soccer ball. A smile appears on my face as I watch that moment of fun. We are next to the small lake here on the property, it is one of my favorite places. But nothing can beat my love for the treehouse.
- "Luiza?" My attention is turned to my wife again. Valentina waves at me, calling
- "Is everything okay?" she questions, as soon as I get close enough to me. I nod.
I approach her, hold her waist and stand on tiptoe to seal our lips. I don't even mind my in-laws' possible attention to the two of us, they are used to seeing our displays of affection.
- "I was enjoying the sun a little."
- "Missed me?"
- "Very Much."
- "Sorry to disturb you two, but the cake is ready and warm, waiting for us. Let's have afternoon coffee." Catarina comes to us, with a beautiful smile on her face. I've noticed that she's more affectionate, especially with Valentina. They have talked a lot, but my wife says little about it. I understand, it's a personal and old issue for both of them.
- "Thank you, mother-in-law. I was really hungry, I really wanted to eat that corn cake" I thanked her, returning her motherly smile.
- "Come on, little guy. Let's eat!"
- "Come on, Luiza Albuquerque" Mark says jokingly, approaching me with an outstretched arm. I laugh at the joke; I'm already used to them calling me that way. It comforts me and makes me feel good knowing that I am an Albuquerque.
- "Campos- Albuquerque, Papa." Valentina says as he passes us. The little one is on his back and Duke jumps, excited, trying to catch him. We entered the mansion together, laughing and joking. I'm feeling good, like I haven't felt in a long time. Every day seems like something new, and it really is. Living with all these people has made me a better woman. I'm maturing a little every day, I'm growing in every way possible. A lot of this has to do with my wife, this exceptional woman who does everything to make me look good and takes care of me better than I do myself. I will never be able to thank her enough for having me with her.
- "What do you think so much?" As if she were able to read my thoughts, their owner asks me, quietly so that only I can hear, and I smile, putting down the mug to look in her direction.
- "I'm thinking about the love of my life."
- "Hm... Good things about me?" She smiles naughty, covering my hands with hers.
- "Who said it's about you?"
- "I'm saying the answer, me," without hesitating or losing her arrogant pose. I can't stand this woman's arrogance. The more intimacy we have, the more it appears to be the same as always. All full of herself and with extreme certainties, but I don't even complain much, I actually like this egocentric way.
- "You are very full of yourself." I bring my hand to her nose, squeezing it with little force. Valentina grimaces, pulling her head back and slipping away from me. "You're lucky I like you so much."
