Your stomach was rife with butterflies.
Actually, butterflies was probably an understatement. It was more a swarm of bees fighting to get out of your throat.
You were so excited, and knew this was the best thing to ever happen to you, but you were still so nervous and you weren't sure why.
Maybe it was because you were about to marry two of the most gorgeous and powerful men in America.
Yup, that might be it.
It was a warm day, the sunlight filtering through the trees, giving everything a sun kissed glow.
The girls had worked hard to make the setting as perfect as possible.
Chairs were lined up either side of the aisle which was scattered with petals and tea lights. At the end of the aisle, was a slightly raised platform where Tony would stand to perform the ceremony, and vines of flowers cradled the archway above it. Wanda had done all the floral arrangements, choosing a mixture of roses and daisies.
Your dress was a sleek and silky white, with a rouched cowl neck. You didn't need big and fancy, besides, even wearing white was a bit of a stretch considering how opposite of pure and virginal you were. Also, the real treat was underneath the dress.
You had reluctantly taken off the dog tags at your Mother's request of wearing something blue from her sapphire necklace that she wore at her own wedding.
Once you had given your nod of approval to the setting, you had been hurried inside Tony's cabin, into an upstairs bedroom, by Nat and Pepper for the finishing touches to hair and make up, and to wait for all the guests to file in.
Luckily, your Mom had gone to help Tony with the final touches, otherwise she would be too overbearing right now.
Wanda was spritzing you with perfume when a rushed knock sounded on the door.
"Tony, go away! I gave you the list of things to do." Pepper chided as she walked up to the door with a huff, clearly frustrated at having to manage Tony, even out of work.
When she opened the door however, it was Sam standing there, looking out of breath and worried, his tie slightly loosened on his suit to allow him to breathe better.
"Sam, what is it?" Nat turned as she saw the Avenger standing awkwardly at the door.
You stopped touching up your lipstick to look at him, a sinking feeling in your gut.
Can something just go smoothly for one day?
"Erm, Nat can I talk to you?" Sam spoke in hushed tones, his eyes darting between all the women in the room.
"Sam, whatever you have to say is clearly important enough to interrupt our prep, so just say it here." You sighed.
Sam stepped further into the room, his eyes raking over you properly now.
