Nathan Anderson scowled at the woman standing in front of him, the sweet smell of blueberries filled his nostrils. It must be her shampoo, his anger increased, did she mean to seduce him? He looked at her disdainfully. She may have no idea about their family feuds, but she was still a 'moore' and a mere human and damn he hated humans, hated the moores. He could feel her tugging on his soul, he stood up and walked towards the glass window, there was no escaping the scent. It filled the entire room and the spacious office became too small for him all of a sudden, he walked back to her and stared hard into her eyes.
Big mistake.
He grabbed her arm; "Don't you ever show your face here again, if i see you anywhere around this premises, i'll feed you to the wild dogs. Get out!" he said and let go off her.
Scared, Selena Moore scurried out of the office, she ran to the elevator like someone or something was after her, it wasn't until the elevator closed that she remembered to breathe. Nathan Anderson was more scary than the rumors, he was even more scarier than she imagined and what was that she saw in his eyes? Maybe it's just a pigment of her imagination.
She told her boss that she wasn't the best candidate for this job, but he sent her here anyway. The man was known for his ruthlessness and ill temper, but he seemed like he had a personal beef with her because he was calm when she walked into his office. As soon as she introduced herself, he asked who her father was and she responded, the atmosphere became clogged, she felt like she was choking. But then again, there was an attraction she felt towards him, it's like she was drawn to him by an invisible force, just like iron to magnet.'No selena, he's an arrogant bastard. Stop daydreaming, he's no doubt handsome and well built, his brown hair and amber eyes. Those abs and muscles i could see through his white shirt, the curve of those kissable lips that.......'
Selena shook her head vigorously, like she could actually shake something off it. The elevator opened at the lobby and she walked out of the building, it was about to rain and she needed to haul a cab before it begins and ruin her curls. She'd spent hours in the salon the previous day getting those curls done, just for this meeting. Who the hell told her boss nathan anderson was willing to share any information about his life to the magazine, from what she could tell, the man hated people. He was the only one at the top floor, no secretary, just his two 'male' assistants who were more like his brothers than employees. Getting him to agreed to an article on his businesses and a peek in his personal life was a failed mission, an impossible quest. They could have gotten an article on other big companies out there, but no, her boss was as greedy as oliver twist wanting more, bigger fishes, in her boss's words: 'The Biggest Fish in these parts'.
When the cab pulled up in front of springfield magazine, her office, she ran from the drizzling rain and into the building. She met her colleague and assistant, Duke Allen.
"He refused you, didn't he?" he asked.
Selena nodded, "How do i face that wolf now?"
Duke laughed, "Don't let him hear that. He should know this would happen, Nathan Anderson is not an easy man."
"Like he doesn't know before sending me into dracula's palace." Selena rolled her eyes.
Duke's mouth pressed into a thin line, "Did he drink your blood?"
"I was carrying holy water."
The both of them laughed until her boss's secretary called her name. "The boss calls for you." she said.
"How did he know i was back?" Selena whispered.
"Goodluck." Duke whispered back
Selena lingered at the door of Mr. Miller's office, she was sweating bullets and her heart pounded rapidly. "Get in here moore!" he yelled.
She opened the door and started; "Sir, i tried....."
"No you didn't! I personally sent you in there to use your charm to make him agree to this."
"What? What charm?"
"You're beautiful, tall, slim waist, round bottom, perfect breast.... Just the way he likes them, why didn't he bulge? Maybe because you didn't put on more makeup, or......"
Selena was speechless, she watched how her boss ranted on and on about how he had pimped her for the most insensitive bastard she had ever met.
"Mr. Miller, i do not appreciate you speaking to me in such manner." she suddenly flared up.
"Well, you must find a way to get him on springfield magazine, we need this and you have to make it happen."
"And if i don't?"
"Then you better start looking for another job. Good day Selena Moore!"
Selena couldn't believe her ears, her job was suddenly on the line for that arrogant son of a bitch. She walked out of her boss's office with a sullen face, then walked into hers, the office she had worked so hard to earn in three years.
"Screw you nathan anderson! I wish you would rot in hell!"
She screamed, she placed her head on her table and thought of ways to keep her job, ways that didn't involve seeing nathan ever again. She couldn't afford to lose her job, she needed this job, she even aimed for her boss's position, and was certain she would get it if she worked harder for another two or three years more. That was how much she loved her her job, plus it was sufficient enough to pay the bills, the rent, feeding and her mother's medications. Her father's job wasn't yielding money that often anymore, even though she didn't know what kind of job it was, she gave up finding out a long time.
