CHAPTER 19

Nathan arrived home and discovered selena wasn't there, he panicked and hurried out to look for her, but Ryan stopped him immediately;

"She's safe, she went home."

Nathan relax a little.
"What the hell is she doing there?"

"One of our spy reported Arnold's absence for his home must of the time. Her brother nicholas is always home alone, she probably wanted to spend time with him."

"Such an incompetent father, he's probably busy with christopher on their stupid secret. Have they found out what he's up to?"

"No Nate. No one can penetrate that lair, any vamp that goes in, do not come out."

"Damn it!"

"There might be a way."
A male voice came from behind the garden.

"Henry, what are you doing here?"
Ryan asked

"It's my brother's villa, i can drop by whenever i like."

"What are you talking about, what other way is there?"

Nathan asked, taking a sit and crossing his legs. The two men joined him as nathan called the house keeper for drinks.

"Selena."
All eyes dropped on henry, including the housekeeper who just arrived with their drinks.
"She's a moore."

"Can you not remind Nate of that."

"She's the only one who can spy for us, treat her well and compel her to go see what secrets her grandfather is hiding."

"Really? It's dangerous for her, her grandfather might sniff her out and that would be confirming his suspicions about nathan." Ryan said, he looked at nathan who was occupied with his own thoughts.
"Don't tell me you're actually considering it."

"Why not, what use is she to me anyway."

Ryan scoffed, then laughed sadly.
"Both of you are insane. Am i the only one who's not seeing the risks here? She may get to find out about our kind, what you really are."

"She would find out sooner or later Ryan, why not now."

"It's a risk i am willing to take, i don't care if she finds out or not." Nathan said and sipped his soda.

"So what happens if christopher finds out you made her spy for you? She could get hurt...."

"Christopher wouldn't hurt his granddaughter."

"Even if he does, it's not our problem."

Both Ryan and Henry looked at nathan, then at each other and back at him. The young man hasn't realized if anything happens to his mate, he would be miserable and might probably never forgive himself. He may not love her, but the mate bond can never be taken for granted.

Selena carefully thought about it and she would love to take nicholas with her, but then nathan may not permit it and her brother was one stubborn and proud one. But she thought she had to discuss with him first, so she went to his room and knocked several times but there was no answer. She came to the dining room to see her father and brother having breakfast together, laughing and chatting.

"Hey lena, you're awake, come join us."
Nicholas said

"What's going on?" Selena asked as she gently sat down to join in.

"Nicholas insisted i take him to the laboratory, he wants to see what's going on. I called your grandpa, he doesn't object." Arnold said

"Oh."

"You should come with us lena."

"Erm...I don't think..."

"I know you refuse to believe anything i've taught you, but seeing is believing right. Come and i'll show you both that they do exist."

"Please lena, come with us, let's see."

Selena sighed, nathan hadn't called her yet and there was nothing she could do at home, she was on leave after all. She could also satisfy her curiosity about this whole story she's heard ever since she was little.

"Fine. I'll go get ready."

After driving for three hours, Arnold got off the road into a dusty trail, it took them to a secluded area when they could finally see the whole building. Passing the security check point where their dad had to punch in some numbers as the passcode, he drove in and pulled up at the car garage.

"I don't understand, where did you and grandpa get the money to build such a facility?" Selena asked

"We didn't build this. Your grandfather has connections with some anonymous people who are interested in getting rid of all the vampires in our city. So they built this and gave our family to work with, as you know the moores have been hunting vampires for generations."

"Hmmm."

"When you see what's inside, you'll believe me."

They walked inside and took the elevator to the fourth floor, the building wasn't so big and they had few security,  but it wasn't easy to access because every where was operated by electronic cards and control pads. Selena wondered what they could be protecting so much, then they got to a long corridor with a lot of doors.

"This is the cell rooms we put our prisoners in."

"Prisoners?" It was nicholas turn to ask.

"Yes, the vampires we hunt, they're put in here."

"And you experiment on them?" Nicholas asked again

"Well, these anonymous people are desperate to find out if their forms are caused by a virus and if it's contagious?"

"Are there any vampires in those cells?" Selena asked

"Let's find out."

Arnold smiled, he was enjoying this, finally letting his children in on a family secret was exciting him.
He clicked on a button and all the doors were drawn aside and revealing the vamps sitting far away from the iron bars.

"Holy shit!" Nicholas yelled "They are real!"

"I told you they are."

"Why are they so frail?"  Nicholas asked

"They've been starved, there's no blood for them to feed on."

Selena couldn't believe her eyes, she never thought she would actually see this day, vampires were real?
"Th...the..they're..."

"Speechless huh, i told you they've got to be real." Nico said

Selena couldn't move, she stood rooted to the ground like a statue, until a vampire rushed towards her.
