CHAPTER 31

It was a very long and peaceful sleep until the sharp pain hit her hard, first it started with a little discomfort and then turned into a burning sensation. Selena woke up clutching her stomach, she could feel her whole body burning, but it wasn't nothing compared to the pain and burns inside her tummy. Suddenly, she was scared for her baby;

"No, ahhh, it hurts. Nick! Nico!"
Selena called out loud.

Nicholas came running into her room in an instant, he saw his sister in great pain and he got really scared.

"Lena, what's happening?"
He asked

"My tummy hurts, it burnnnnns"
Selena cried

Nicholas panicked, then he carried her out;

"What happened?"
Arnold asked with worry on his face.

"Something is wrong with her dad, i'm taking her to the hospital."
Nicholas said

"Take her to the laboratory, the doctors can't help her."
Christopher appeared from nowhere, everyone thought he left the previous night, but it was obvious he spent the night in the guest room.

"Hospital....my...baby. My baby...."
Selena grabbed nicholas as she squirmed in his arms.

"Grandpa, she needs medical attention."

"And what are you going to tell them? That she's pregnant for a vampire who made her drink his blood in order to turn her?"

Both arnold and nicholas was stunned. Arnold, because he didn't know his daughter was pregnant and is about to turn into a vamp, Nicholas because he couldn't believe his grandfather knew all along. Christopher took selena from nicholas, into his car and drove off, arnold was too shocked to pursue him, while nicholas paced about thinking of what to do.
At the lab, christopher laid the groaning selena on a table, he took a bottle containing a yellow liquid, used a syringe to inject her with half the liquid. Selena's screams began to reduce as she suddenly felt so weak and foggy;

"You shouldn't have trusted a vamp child, you're just completely stupid."
Christopher said, wiping the blood off selena's legs with a damp cloth.
"Did you think he was going to have a baby with you, you're the daughter of his greatest enemy, how could he let you birth his child."

"No...he wouldn't...hurt me."
Selena said faintly

"Then how would you explain your miscarriage after he made you take his blood, huh? Don't be naive child. That's what they do, they bewitch you into doing all their bidding and making you think you did it out of your own will."

"That's...that's a lie....nat..nathan would not do that."
Selena became more weak as she struggled to fight the effects of the drug.
"What....did you do...to me?"

"Just a drug to ease the pains and save your life, stop fighting it, go to sleep. There's nothing you can do to save the baby, it has to go for you to survive."

"No..."
Selena began to cry
"No, please....grandpa, don't...don't do this."

"I didn't do this to you lena, nathan did. I want you to live, that why i gave you an antidote to save you from his poisonous blood."

Selena continue to fight off the effect of the drug chris gave her, he took the bottle again and inject the remaining liquid into her. Arnold arrived to see his daughter passing out slowly;

"Pops what did you do to her? She's bleeding "

"I saved her."

"What did you give her?"

"Don't ask me stupid questions boy, you should be thanking me. That bastard nearly killed your daughter, do you still believe we can live peacefully with them now?"

"Nathan...."
Selena called faintly

Both men approached her, Arnold patted her head, coaxing her to sleep, shortly after she passed out completely. Selena was taken to a room cellar after she had been cleaned up, she was having a rather disturbing dream, she saw nathan walking away from her.

'Don't leave, please stay'

'Selena, dear wife, you don't belong with me. You're the daughter of my greatest enemy and so we cannot be together.'

'What do you mean? I love you nathan, please don't go'

'But i don't love you selena. What i feel for you is hatred.'

'That's not true, you care for me, i can see it in your eyes each time i look at you.'

'You saw what you wanted to see, i have never loved you and will never love you. Did you think i was going to have a child with someone i hate so much?'

'Nathan....'

'Forget about me, I'm going to kill your family.....and you are no exception.'

'Nathan, nathan! Wait nathan!'

"NATHAN!"
Selena screamed from her sleep as she jolted.

She watched nathan walk away and disappeared into the darkness after saying those hurtful words to her, then she began to wonder if he could actually harm her and his own child. But then, he hated her family so much and she now knew the feeling was mutual. But selena couldn't bring herself to believe nathan would do that to her, she touched her tummy and began to weep profusely.

"My baby....my innocent child, you didn't have to kill my baby....."
Her sobs intensified

She cried all through the night, still in disbelief what had happened to her, how her simple life had become so tough and full of pain. She thought she would not be satisfied until she spoke to nathan, she wanted him to say those words right to her face.
Until then, she wasn't going to take whatever he said serious, still when she remembered those words, her heart would hurt like hell.
