CHAPTER 20

Running without knowing where she was going, selena kept running as fast as her legs could carry her, all she wanted was to put a lot distance between her and those things. She couldn't stop herself even when her dad called after her, she ran into a large room with so many equipment, she paused. She looked at the sharp and scary weapons in the room, when she got to the huge white cage, her eyes almost popped out.

"My dear lena, i see you've seen our newest creation." Christopher Moore walked in

"Wh..what is this?"

"This is a vampire killing machine that i built, the white bars are made from the finest and rarest of oaks you can find. Our sponsors spent a lot of money to get them, it has been designed to drain any vamps power within minutes."

"Why torture them with all these, can't you just kill them quickly?"

"Lena, thank goodness. You just ran off without looking back." Arnold said, breathing hard.

"Dad where's nico?"

"He took the elevator, he'll be here soon."

Just then, nicholas wheeled into the lab as well. "Lena you're such a scaredy cat, those iron bars were electric, it burnt the vamp immediately it got close."

"I see you've seen our guests." Chris laughed

"Grandpa."

"How are you nicholas, welcome to our abode. I was just telling your sister about our new toy, this is mainly for the royal vamps."

"There are royal vampires?"

"Yes son, those bastards are tough to kill, so we built this to imprison them. Especially those anderson sons of bitches."

"Pops, that's too much information."

"What? They're here already, they need to know their enemies."

"What are you talking about? Dad what enemies?" Selena asked, her curiosity intensified especially hearing her husband's name.

"There are some royal vampires, the andersons. They were the origins of the vampire clan, they are the strongest and most powerful of all order vamps, if we get them, we get 'all of them'."

"Wait, the andersons? You mean nathan...."

"We are not certain that they are those andersons yet." Arnold interrupted Nicolas.

"But you my dear, can help us find out." Christopher said, dropping his hand on selena's shoulder.

"I...I...wh.."

"Relax my dear, it's simple. I'm going to tell you what to do to find out if he's a vampire or a human."

"I don't think he is grandpa." Selena said, she wasn't sure she needed to know either.

"So do i." Nicholas agreed

"Don't be deceived son, these people can be very manipulative and corny. The vervain your father has been feeding you with can't save you from them, only your family can. The earlier you find out who he is, the better, okay lena."

Selena was scared now, she hoped nathan was human, she wished he was. She didn't know what she would do if he wasn't, but now she thought about it, he really could be a vampire. Why else would hate her family so much, why would he hate her so much.

"Fine, i'll let you know as soon as i find out." She said

"Good girl."

Nathan was taking a rest by the pool, when selena came home, she was exhausted from the grand tour of the laboratory. She still has goosebumps from what she saw, and her heart thumped hard when she thought of nathan.
She took a quick shower and went to see him at the poolside.

"Look who finally came home." Nathan said, not looking at her.

"Nathan." She called, but the words never came out, she didn't even know what to say.

Nathan raised his head and look at her, she was staring right into his eyes, and he saw fear in hers. He gently stood up and slowly approached her, she didn't step back, even though the fear increased. She was breathing hard and he could hear her thumping heart, he got close to her, she held his gaze.
Then she did something that shocked him, she hugged me.

What the freaking hell is wrong with her? Why would she do this?
He thought

He pulled her away from him, glared at her angrily and was about to walk away when he remembered what Henry said about treating her well. He rolled his eyes and approached her again, he helped her sit;

"What's wrong? Are you okay?" He asked unfazed

"Nathan"

"Mmm."

"Wh...why do..why do you hate me? Wh..why do you hate my family so much?" She spoke slowly and softly.

Nathan frowned, "What..."

"Please, Please tell me the truth. Did they do something to you? Or...your family?"

Nathan growled, he was getting angry with these questions, why did she suddenly ask him about this? What was going through her mind? Why couldn't he read her mind though?
Then it hit him, he hadn't drunk from her yet, he needed to drink from her. But he wasn't in the mood, even though the thought excited him;

"I can't talk right selena. Go in and have something to eat." He said and stood up.

Selena held his hand, "Nathan.." she called softly, her voice stirred him up, he became hot suddenly.

He closed his eyes. "Let go selena."

"Please..."

"Let go!" He growled loudly, turned around immediately and left to hide his eyes and fangs.
