CHAPTER 28

A week has passed since selena last saw nathan, she never stopped trying to reach any of them, she missed him so much especially now that she was pregnant with his child. Selena vowed to hide it away from her family, she knew what her grandfather would do to her if he found out she was carrying a vampire blood. She also noticed changes in her body as well, sometimes she felt she could hear her father's voice from afar or hear nathan calling out her name in pain.
Selena wanted to resume work, but everything reminded her of nathan and duke. She couldn't even talk to her friend, sofie because nicholas said she was turned during her trip to greece and she finally understood why sofie went MIA on everyone.

My life just turned upside down within a space of five months, i guess i was fated to be unlucky.
Selena thought

She rubbed her tummy and smiled as she looked at her reflection in the mirror.

"You're the only lucky gift i have."

Selena sighed and laid down on her bed, tears threatened to spill but she sniffed it back, thinking about what to do with her life, she dozed off. She had a dream seeing herself in a forest route, it looked spooky and it scared her. She walked around, trying to find a way out of there;

"Selena."
Someone called out to her. She turned around, looking for the familiar voice.
"Selen."
He called her again.

"Nathan, is that you?"

"You shouldn't be here, go now."

"But i miss you, i'm sorry. I swear i didn't sell you out, i just wanted to leave because i was scared but i regret it now. Please...let me see you."

Tears dropped uncontrollably as she searched for him. When nathan finally showed up, she rushed towards him and held him tight as she sobbed and apologized. Nathan didn't move or hug her back, but she didn't care, she was happy to see him.

"Leave now selena."

"No, i don't want to, take me with you."

"That's impossible."

"It is not, i want to be with you nathan please, come take me with you."

"You should have thought about that a week ago, you're free from me now."

"I'm pregnant. I'm carrying your child."

Nathan stepped away from her, he looked her sternly and then at her tummy, his eyes suddenly grew wide. But as quickly as possible, he returned to being cold and distant again;

"You have to get rid of it."

"No! I won't."

"If your grandfather finds out, both you and the child will be in danger."

"I will not get rid of our baby, and i won't let anyone hurt it. I know you hate me, i get you don't want anything to do with me....but know that i...i...."

"Leave now."
Nathan said and turned to walk away.

"I love you!"
Selena yelled. Nathan halted but he didn't turn back, he just stood still.
"I love you nathan anderson, i don't care how many times you push me away, i'll find you."

Nathan walked away without looking back and selena woke up with tears in her eyes, even though she didn't know where to start from, she was determined to find him. Her father had set his men to guard her wherever she goes, but she thought of a way to sneak out of the house.
At night, when everyone was fast asleep, selena climbed out the window and slowly slid off the roof unto the top of their basement where her dad worked on his old car. She successfully left the house, but on her attempt to scale the compound, she was grabbed from behind.

"No, let me go."

"Shuussh, it's me lena."
Nicholas whispered

"What?"

"Where do you think you're going?"

"Away from here, away from all of you."

"But we're your family lena."

"My family is keeping me away from the man i love."

"So you don't care he's a vampire and he could hurt you?"

"You and i know nathan would never hurt me. Didn't you say henry helped you get a professional doctor for your surgery? You can walk now thanks to the same people you're planning to kill. How are you guys any different? The way i see it, humans are the real monsters here. Did you kill sofie, huh? Tell me."

"Get inside lena, i don't want to alert dad and grandpa."

"Go ahead, you've betrayed me before anyway."

"I didn't betray you, I did it for......"

"I don't want to hear your lies and excuses nick, just let me go."

"I can't lena, you don't know where to go, and if grandpa get a hold of you, he'll know about the baby and imprison you permanently."

Selena gasped, "You know about the baby?"

"Yes."

"How?"

"It doesn't matter, i'm just trying to save you lena."

"I'm safe only when i'm with him nico."

Nicholas sighed, "i'll let you meet him just once but not tonight okay."

"You know how to get to him?"

Nicholas smiled, "You should study some more about these race, it will help you understand them better."
