CHAPTER 24

Nathan woke up and didn't see selena beside him, he remembered asking her to stay, but she still got up early and disappeared. He grunted in frustration;

"Why did i make up that stupid rule..."

He murmured as he got dressed to go find her. She wasn't in her room either, he found her in the kitchen stuffing her face with cookies and he laughed quietly as he watched her for a moment.

"Easy princess, don't choke on it." He said and came into the kitchen to join her.

"I'm...starving." she said with her mouth full.

"I can see that."
He said, bringing out some items from the refrigerator.
"I'll make you something healthy to eat." He added.

Selena thought she heard wrong, her eyes grew wide and she stopped chewing. "Wh..what?" She tried to swallow as hard as she could.

Nathan didn't pay her any mind, he just got busy with whatever he was doing, while she sat quietly and watched him, daydreaming about how this was the perfect honeymoon. She never thought she would see the day nathan made her breakfast, her head was spinning and butterflies flooded her tummy.
When nathan raised his eyes to glance at her, her heart sped up, it thumped hard against her chest like it would fall out any minute. Holding her chest, she gulped down a half glass of water and closed her eyes to steady her heartbeat.

"You alright?"
His thick manly voice rocked her.

"Ye..yeah, yeah i'm fine."

Selena hadn't said anything about last night and nathan didn't want her to remember anything, she shouldn't know the whereabout of her assistant. He had told Ryan to erase her memory of the incident, he didn't want her asking questions he wouldn't want to answer. One thing was certain, she would never see her assistant again, no one touches what was his and live to see the sun rise.
With that thought, nathan smirked evily, and selena suddenly had goosebumps because she was watching him the whole time. Nathan sensed her fear and cleared his throat, then he flexed his shoulders like an eagle shrugging its wings.

"You need help?"
Selena smiled sweetly.

"No, go shower. Breakfast will be done before you get down."
As soon as the words left his mouth, he growled softly, knowing he was going to regret.

Selena smiled, turned around the table to give him a quick kiss on the cheek before she ran upstairs. Immediately she disappeared, nathan threw a knife at the door way;

"Owww."
Henry showed up with the knife stuck at his chest, he laughed as he took it out.
"Damn, never thought i would see you in such a state."
Henry laughed again.

"Shut the fuck up!"
Nathan barked

"He's right, you're acting like a doting husband."
Ryan joined them.

"What the hell are you both doing here? You both are beginning to irritate me."

"Relax, we'll out soon. I found out a stimulant was added to her drink last night."

"Fucking bastard..." nathan folded his hand into a fist.

"Be thankful it was you who put out the fire."
Henry smiled,
"The fool has been locked up, now remember this is your chance to work on her Nate."
He added

Nathan looked at him and took a deep breath.
"Fine, now get out."

Ryan and Henry laughed as they sped out. Unfortunately for them, selena heard their little discussion, hiding at the corner of the stairs. Now she knew why she acted the way she did last night and she was relieved it was nathan she was with the whole night, she quickly tiptoed back to her room, nathan's brow furrowed when he thought he heard something.
A few minutes later, selena came downstairs, all dressed up. The breakfast nathan made, pancakes and a cup of coffee stared at her. But she didn't know if she wanted to eat that, what if it was poisoned or drugged:

What was henry talking about? What did he mean by working on me? And what i saw.....that....

"Don't just stand there, it's getting cold." Nathan's voice made her jerk.
"Are you okay?"

"Ye..yeah, i..i'm fine."

She watched him take a bite from his plate, then she relaxed a little and sat down. She playfully switched the plates, he stared at her as she ate from his, selena remembered what she read about vampires.

Super strength,
Enhanced reflexes,
Super speed..... Now i see

After she was done, selena stood up to clear the plate, a glass fell off the table, she gasped as she was quickly scooped up by nathan immediately the glass shattered. Shock hit her as her eyes grew, he took her to a clean spot before coming back to clear the debris.

"You should be careful next time."

Selena just stood there speechless, she didn't know to react:
