Selena finish having breakfast, kissed her brother's head and was about to walk out of the house.

"Hold on."

"Mom, i'm going to be late."

"I know, you hardly eat properly and you don't take lunch either. This is the only thing i can do since i'm incapable of working, you shoulder almost all the responsibility of the house."

"I'm not complaining, right?"

"I am, especially when your job now depends on the article for that nathan anderson." Mr moore said as he walked towards her, he held a bowstring, the kind of weapons she saw few months ago at her father's workshop were so strange. But she never asked, else he would know she had snooped.

"You sound like you know him." Selena said, looking at her wristwatch, she couldn't afford to be late.

"Not at all, just some rumors, i can't be sure. Just be careful and watch your back, i hear you're his kind of woman."

"Arnold." mrs moore called, "Don't scare her."

"I'm just asking her to be safe."

"Alright dad, mom, i'm going now."

Selena hugged her parents and got into her car, she drove straight to the springfield and pulled up at the parking lot. Stepping out excitedly as she saw her assistant, he was looking so gloomy;

"Hey dude, what's up? You look pale."

Duke was startled, his mind seemed to be in chaos. "I don't know lena, something happened to me last night, but i can't remember what."

"When was this?"

"After we left the office last night."

"Was that why you didn't come with your car?" selena asked, they walked into her office.

"The door was ripped from its hinges."

"What?"

"That's it, and i don't remember how it happened."

Selena chuckled, "You must have gotten so drunk then, i remember you said you were visiting the boys."

"Yeah, that's true. The car door, though."

"One of them drove it and got into an accident, maybe." Selena sat on her chair and opened her laptop, she frowned when she saw a file sent by her boss. "Sorry duke, can we talk later."

"Sure." Duke left her office.

As selena began to access the information she was sent, the telephone rang. "Yes."

"The boss wants you in his office now." the lady said, selena sighed, then she stood up and went to see the man threatening to fire her. When she arrived, her boss had a coy smile on his face, it confused her, he didn't even notice her entrance.

"You called sir." No response, "Mr Miller!" she called louder again.

The man jerked, "Hey, miss moore. Please sit, how are you today."

Selena's confusion increased, her boss never asks anyone how they were doing, something was up. "I'm sure you didn't call me to ask that mr miller, what's going on?"

Mr Miller smiled, "Mr Anderson has agreed to meet with you again, say he was in a bad mood the other day."

Selena bent her head sideways, "Really."

"Yes, he called personally and ask that you come in today by 9pm. It's 8:30pm, i suggest you get going."

"I haven't finished the report you sent to me, and why me again?"

Mr Miller frowned, "Because he specifically asked for you, and you can give duke to complete the report. Get going now, he hates tardiness, he regards them as unserious people."

Selena grunted as she left the office, another day of war with nathan anderson, she crossed her fingers as she hauled a cab, hoping today would go better. When she arrived at the huge exquisite building, the receptionist at the lobby put a call through nathan's office before letting her take the elevator. Getting to the office, she took a deep breath before going in, she saw the assistant.

"He'll be with you shortly." Ryan said, "Make yourself comfortable."

"Hell no, i rather stand and wait for him to come shush me out." selena said, holding her ipad and purse tighter.

Ryan chuckled softly and left the office, five minutes later and the big boss hasn't showed up, the heels where killing selena. She stood an extra three minutes before she attempted to sit down, but then he came in and she jolted, wincing in pain.

"And why are you standing?" Nathan asked, taking note of her discomfort.

"So it would be easy for me to hurry out." she replied, then hissed in pain.

"Sit down selena." Selena walked slowly to the sofa and sat down before she realized what he had called her, he wasn't so formal, he sounded like they were very acquainted.

"You should take off the shoes, to ease the legs. You'll be here for a while."

Nathan added, then walked to the glass table by the side of his office and poured a glass of water, he handed it to her. Stunned, selena hesitated;

"Or you want something stronger?" he asked.

She took the water and said; "Thank you Mr Anderson." Nathan nodded, sat opposite her, with his legs crossed.

Selena took a sip and dropped the glass, she opened her iPad and began. "Let's begin sir."

"I didn't call you here for that." nathan said.

She raised her eyes to him, he saw confusion in them. "Then what's this meeting about?"

Something flashed in his eyes, but it was too quick for selena to notice. "I'm not going to chase shadows, and i'm not going to say this twice, so listen carefully. I know your family is going through a rough time, and you shoulder most of the responsibilities, i could save you from that burden." When she remained quiet, he continued. "All you have to do is marry me, it is not up for moot and you only have five hours to decide." He stopped and gave her some minute to process it.

Everything he said sounded inscrutable to selena, leaving her dazed for a minute, she recovered and gave him a sardonic look. Then she burst into peels of laughter.
