CHAPTER 36

Henry felt something was wrong, he wondered why nathan hadn't returned since yesterday, feeling uneasy about it, he called for Ryan.

"I thought he was just spending time with his mate, but....i can't sense him anymore."

"What do we do?"
Ryan asked

Henry stormed to see arnold, Ryan followed;

"How complicated is this laboratory?"
Henry asked

"You can't get in, even if you do, you can't get out either. There are sensors made with silver, when turned on, the mechanical wave can drain you."

"I can get us in and out."
Nicholas said

"Don't be so sure son, your grandfather should have discovered the tunnel as i did."

"So are you saying i should sit and do nothing? My brother could have been captured by christopher."

"I'm saying i can help."
Arnold said

"No, i don't trust you. So you could bring christopher here?"
Ryan said

"That's what he'll use lena for, he's going to manipulate her into revealing your location. I can stop him."

Henry and Ryan exchanged glances, what choice do they have at this crucial moment, Arnold may be their only hope of finding nathan. Trusting him was the major obstacle, they hadn't even gotten the time to interrogate him and finding out what brought him to them, now they were going to hand him an important task?

"You have no reason to trust me, but i'm doing this for the safety of my children. My father has gone too far, at this rate he wouldn't mind killing his own family just to achieve his aim."

"Well, he's right. Christopher moore has gone bunkers, he needs to be stopped."
Ryan said

Henry sighed
"Fine, get ready, we're leaving immediately. Ryan i need you here to protect the hive, as soon as i get nathan, we'll leave this city."

Nicholas insisted on going with them, but arnold refused, he only wanted to be bothered about the safety of one child, not two. The doubts in henry's mind dropped to a bare minimum since the man trusted his people with his son's safety, henry was certain he wouldn't play dirty. And so arnold, henry and a few men set out to the laboratory to get his brother and his mate.

At this moment, selena was trying to fight off the effect of the serum, the voice in her head kept telling her to obey her grandfather's instructions. On the other hand, she didn't think she could bring herself to hurt nathan, still she was not in control of herself anymore. She had walked past the laboratory route and faced the way leading to the hive when she felt she was being followed.

He doesn't care about nicholas, he just wants to know the whereabout of the rest.
How do i fight this?

Selena fell to the ground and held her head, she was in great pain, forcing herself to take a different path, she tried to use her speed but couldn't. She knew that serum paralyzes her powers and overtime had made her mind vulnerable to penetrate. Now she was like a puppet her grandfather used, she couldn't let him get what he wanted.
So selena forced herself to keep walking the wrong way, far away from the laboratory and the hive.

He won't die, grandpa still need him. So he won't kill him, he won't die.

She kept repeating to herself as she walked on, she intended to keep walking far away until the serum is worn out of her system. She vowed to endure the pain and torment until it completely wears off after two days, she told herself that it was better to die than live like that.

           When arnold and the others were close to the laboratory, he told them to wait at the back entrance which was rarely used by anyone.

"Stand by the door, i'll go in through the main entrance and turn off everything that would pose a threat to your powers. Once you hear a click at the door, you can enter. I'll try to keep my father occupied for the time being."
Arnold explained

After he was gone, Henry said to his men;
"Keep your guard up, for all we know, this could be a set up."

Arnold got in and went straight to his father, christopher chuckled when he saw him;

"I knew you would return."

"I can't find my kids, and it's all your fault."

Christopher sighed,
"You weren't patient enough, you would have seen lena. She came back with a very big package."
He laughed hysterically

"What are you talking about? Where's she?"

Christopher stood up from his chair and tapped on arnold's shoulder.
"Come with me."
He said

Arnold used the opportunity of chris forgetting his control pad, he turned off the sensors and unlocked the back door. Then he quickly followed his father, who took him to see their honored guest, nathan anderson.

"Aren't you impressed? Finally we have one of Harry's son."
Christopher boasted

Arnold looked at nathan, the man looked back at him with a death cold stare, the man was truly intimidating like his father. If it weren't for that cage constructed out of oak and silver, they would be lying lifeless on the ground already.

"Where is lena?"
Arnold asked

Christopher grunted,
"You just always have to take the fun out of everything huh."

"Where is my daughter pops?"

"She went on her next assignment."

"You've turned her into your puppet, haven't you? What happens when the serum stops working? Are you also going to inject her with poison?"
Regret and tears appeared in arnold's eyes.

"Shut up."

"You accidentally turned my wife into one of them just to study what they were like, then you used her like a dog, and in an attempt to correct her, you poisoned her."

"Shut up!"

"I won't let you do that to lena."
Arnold said and pointed a gun at christopher.
"Open the cage."

Nathan raised his head, his eyes squinted. Freedom?
