CHAPTER 30

For two weeks, selena had seen nathan thrice already, and every time she and nicholas returned to the woods, she was always excited to see her husband again. Selena didn't bother much about how nicholas handled the bodyguards, all she bothered about was seeing nathan's face again. She began to eat properly, sleep properly because she would also get to see him in her dreams as well.

"Will you stop running selen."
Nathan scolded

"Are you worried about me?"
She cocked her head to the side as she irked her brows up and down at him.

"You might hurt yourself and the little one."

"You're such a strange man, is showing emotions that hard for you?"

Selena folded her arm and pouted, nathan chuckled, then he kissed her. "There, happy?"

"Ugh, you guys make me sick."
Nicholas grunted

"Hey, watch it kid."

"You insisted nathan shouldn't bring sofie, why are you irritated now?"
Selena teased.

"Well, sofie will only be a distraction, i need to be alert remember."

"I get it, my little bodyguard."
Selena smiled

After a few minutes, it was time to leave but the couples were reluctant, parting time was always the hardest and nathan decided he couldn't live apart from his mate anymore. She belonged with him.
While he was kissing her, he bit himself and made her suck in his blood;

"What the....."

"Just do it, you have to take it."
Nathan whispered

"You....i'm..."

"Trust me selen."

Selena didn't argue any longer, she drank a large amount from him as he sunk his fangs into her skin, taking from her as well. When they pulled away from each other, selena fell into nathan's arms;

"What the hell happened?"
Nicholas asked

"She's exhausted. Just take her home to rest."
Nathan said, placing his mate in her brother's arms.

  Nicholas laid selena on her bed, when they arrived home, he told their father that she was exhausted from all the fun she had while they were out. Mr christopher sat in the living room in silence, he had a weird look on his face that smelled suspicious. He didn't believe a word nicholas said because he had already found out selena was pregnant with nathan's child and she was also seeing him with nicholas help.

He was convinced nathan had used his mind controlling ability to force his grandchildren against their own will;

"Did you stop using the vervain on them?"

"No, they always remembered to take it, i made sure of that."
Arnold answered

"Didn't you see the bite mark on selena when you took her from the villa weeks ago? The bastard had obviously drained it off from her."

"Pops...."

"No wonder it was easy for him to still control her."

"Pops, selena is not under any compulsion, she's just in love. Which i believe she had gotten out of. "

"Are you this dumb or you're just blinded by your fatherly love for her? In love? Really?"

"Their mate bond is....."

"Oh cut the bullshit about this mate bond shit.... it's all made up to confuse their victims. You have to make the portion and make them drink it."

"Fine, i will."
Arnold rolled his eyes.

His father was stuck up and strict with his beliefs and principles, that's why his children never got close to him, even his grandchildren are afraid of him. Arnold wasn't the only child christopher had, they were two others who were older that him, but they were more of his mother's favorite.

"I miss andre and andrea, mom too."

"We're in the middle of a war and all you can think about are your good-for-nothing siblings and weak mother?"

Arnold scoffed, "This is why they all hated you. All you cared about was your goal to hunt down every vampire of royal blood."

"Yes. And if they had made efforts to become strong enough to hunt as well, they would still be alive."

Arnold was quiet for a while, he couldn't argue with his father, he was right. His twin sibling weren't strong enough when they got attacked 32years ago, they wanted no part in the hunting business. Arnold was only 8years old when the oldest vamp from the anderson family, Bradley Anderson attacked the school of hunters his great grandfather, Gary Moore built. His mother, a very loving and peaceful woman ran to save the twins and ended up getting killed by Bradley.
He never forgot, his father never forgot and that incident left a deep scar on both of them ever since.
