CHAPTER 40

At night, precisely eight pm, nathan's body was laid in a tomb-like stone with selena and ryan standing on either sides. Before they began the process, ryan felt he needed to tell them the probability of their failure.

"Don't get your hopes up, we might succeed and we might not....."

"We have to, we must."
Selena chipped in

"This process is going to be excruciating, nathan i know can handle it, but what about you? You share a bond with him."

"I'm sure i can bare his pain."

"One more thing."

"What now."

"If we do succeed, he may go into a sleep-like death for a very long time. His body will be placed in a coffin until he wakes up. I'll when and how to aid him.

When Ryan knew she understood perfectly, they took deep breaths and began to recite the spells together. And when it started, nathan's roars could be heard by the entire pack, bringing them into submission, and they remained like that for the whole night.
Selena handled her pain very well, leaving the brothers impressed, they watched as she cried while dressing nathan up before he was placed in his coffin. She was a strong one and everyone admired her, even when it came to making a decision concerning her father and grandfather, she did it without batting an eye. Learning about the cause of their mother's death, both nicholas and selena decided their grandfather needed no mercy, and so he was executed immediately.
As for arnold moore, he would serve his punishment far away from his children and the city entirely, selena figured not being able to see them was the best punishment he could get. Maybe they would consider letting him back into their lives when time has healed their wounded hearts, Ryan had told her the probability of her conceiving again was a fifty-fifty chance. Seeing that he wasn't able to get his mate pregnant, but was able to project one into her;

"As soon as nathan comes to, we're going to keep trying for the rest of our lives."
She said

           Two months had passed and nathan still laid in his coffin, his wife never missed the opportunity to keep him company, telling him stories of what was going on around him. The room where he was placed carried other coffins as well and selena understood those to be henry's and other sibling since witches don't sleep for decades.
Henry walked into the room with
Ryan and a lady, they saw selena sitting by nathan's coffin as usual.

"Don't you ever get tired?"
Henry asked

"You don't have a mate yet, so you wouldn't understand."
Ryan replied.

"Who's she?"
Selena asked

"Nathan's meal. Let's wake your sleeping husband."

Selena's eyes sparkled with excitement, she's going to see her husband once again, she stood aside and gave way to the brothers. Henry walked to the coffin, bit his palm and balled his fist hard as blood dropped into nathan's mouth. Selena watched as the pale man in the coffin changed, his eyes opened instantly with a loud gasp, he rushed henry but Ryan got to him first.
They offered the lady to him and let him feed to his satisfaction, selena felt a little twinge of jealousy to see another woman in her husband's arm. Nathan stopped feeding and roared loudly, he was finally back and he so felt good.

"It's good to have you back brother."
Ryan said as he hugged him, then Henry did same.

"It's good to be back."
Nathan replied with a smile.

Looking at his wife's jealous face, he went to her and hugged her tight, snuggling his face between the crook of her neck and inhaling her scent.

I've missed you so much

And the first woman you hugged was her?

I needed to feed properly my pretty jealous witch.

Nathan released selena, only for her to grab his face and snatch his lips in a frantic passionate kiss, making the atmosphere hot and uncomfortable for the rest.

"Okay, okay, we're going."
Henry said, pulling Ryan along.

Take the body away too, it's intruding.

"He really is back."
Ryan grunted as he carried the unconscious lady away.

When the two of finally pulled apart, they were breathing hard, eyes locked with beaming smiles. Selena began stripping her clothes away, revealing her sexy figure in the dim lit room;

"The best welcome present ever."
Nathan said before moving to take her.

EPILOGUE

Ten years later.

Nathan and Selena sat down, tapping their legs vigorously as ryan examined selena's wrist, he kept shaking his head and sighing. That got to nathan;

"Stop doing that man."

"Keep quiet nate."

"Why is it taking so long?"

"Because both of you keep moving, stay still, i can't focus."

"It's called anticipation dumbass."

"I know what it's called, don't lecture me."

"Both of you quiet! I'm agitated enough already!"
Selena yelled and everywhere went dead silent.

"She's definitely locked down, no normal woman has such temper."
Sofie laughed

"Sweetie let the expert do his job, okay."
Nicholas said
"By the way lena, dad's coming to visit."

"That's sudden."
Nathan mumbled

"He's excited to be a grandfather."
Nicholas quick covered his mouth as soon as the words left.

Everyone turned to look at selena, who was already shooting daggers at nicholas, the atmosphere became heavy and tense. Nathan knew what was coming next, so he attempted to coax his wife;

"Don't you dare."
She warned, slapped Ryan's hand away, slowly stood up and walked towards nicholas.
"You yapped about my pregnancy to dad even before i could confirm it?! Are you trying to jinx it?! Huh?!"

Then the chase began......

Nathan turned to Ryan and raised his brows;

"Yep, she's pregnant."
He replied

Nathan smiled and relaxed, leaving the siblings to squabble to their heart content as usual. He was finally going to be a father after so many trials and that's all that mattered to him, he was now a fulfilled vampire.
