Hello everyone.
First of all I want to apologize, because this is an advertisement and not a chapter in this story.
I must admit that these days I have had a lot of problems with this story, especially contradictions with myself that prevented me from continuing with the plot properly. But despite everything, I have made a decision, a decision that is surely very unpleasant for many.
After much thought, I made the decision that Boil passed away after the events of chapter 73.
Yeah. I have republished chapters 74, 75 and 76, which are the ones in which Boil appeared again. In fact, I changed chapter 74 entirely and is now called "Farewell." I know you may be unhappy with this, but now I will give you my reasons for doing this.
1- It was Boil's time.
I will not deny it. From the beginning I had planned that this would be the moment when Boil was going to die, but due to the comments I changed my opinion. I am not going to deny it, the fact of having this clone that I personally like so much once again in my story made me very happy, but it was not the right thing to do.
Boil sacrificed himself to save Mirana and Numa, completely at a disadvantage in a battle that I don't think he can overcome again. Boil's sacrifice had a greater good, and that was this character's moment of glory, and as an author it made me very sad to steal it from him in this way.
2 - I made the same mistake as the sequels.
This opinion will be divided, as some will think that Palpatine's return in the new films was a disaster, and others will think it was good. Personally, I am one of those who supports that Palpatine should not have returned. Not because of his participation in the films, but in what his return would represent.
The death of a character has meaning. A weight. A purpose. So reviving characters isn't always a good idea. And although in the Star Wars universe the technology exists to save someone from certain death, that does not mean that it is correct to do so without a defined purpose. And in Boil's case, no purpose would be more honorable than saving the people he loved.
If I'm not very good at explaining this, I'll leave you with a video from THE TEMPLE GUARD that will explain it in a better way. The problem... it's in Spanish... But I think it has subtitles.
