Chapter 10

3rd person POV

Before sitting down in his seat, he glanced at Marinette, she was wearing another outfit different from her usual one. She had a pink polka dot shirt on, with a denim jacket matched with denim pants and a white belt. After he had sat down he noticed his friend basically drooling over Alya, who was wearing a black shirt, a pink skirt, and black beret with black thigh highs. ( ) Adrien would have whispered to Nino something like 'simp' but Ms. Bustier beat him to it. "Nino, class is starting soon, so stop drooling over your girlfriend." Nino's face turned so red Adrien found it hard to not burst out laughing. "Anyways class, we're starting a writing project today, you will make an essay on your favorite superhero or supervillain, and when you have finished it you will present it to the class while dressing up like that superhero or villain." When she finished, the class erupted into quiet murmurs. "Quiet down now, you may choose to do it with a partner, now get to work." When the main four had finished their lunch, they headed to the library to continue their essay. "Who do you guys plan on doing?" Alya questioned the group. "I plan on doing Rena Rouge for my hero." Nino replied. "I'm probably going to Ladybug like most of the class (the ones who are doing superheroes anyway)." Adrien answered, he also decided to ask Alya who she was gonna do. "I plan on doing Carapace" she said as she looked over at her boyfriend, Marinette who knew their identities couldn't help but chuckle. Alya looked over at her best friend, who, like her, was a superheroine. "What about you M? Who do you plan on doing? WAIT!! Let me guess, Ladybug as well?" She winked at her, both of them knowing each other's identities was really fun, especially while slightly hinting at the alter egos. "Wrong, I'm actually gonna do Chat Noir." All of the other three had different reactions, Alya had a smug look on her face, Nino was slightly surprised, but Adrien looked sad, for a reason Marinette couldn't figure out. He whispered so quietly, that Marinette was the only one who heard him. "Why, he's not important, I bet Ladybug wishes she had a different partner." Marinette's eyes were full of rage, she responded to Adrien letting him know how wrong he was. Marinette stood up and slammed her hands on the table looking Adrien right in the eye. "How dare you!!! Chat Noir is one of the most important heroes ever, Ladybug is nothing without Chat Noir!!!! So next time you're gonna talk shit about one of the greatest heroes, don't expect to get off the hook so easily, cause I will be right here to prove you wrong!!!" Adrien looked at the girl in front of him with admiration, he had never expected anyone to hear what he said, and he had never heard anyone like Chat Noir as a hero, or friend for that matter, so much that they would yell at Adrien Agreste. Alya and Nino looked baffled, Marinette has had a crush on him for the longest time, and here she was yelling at him, for a reason they did not know. Adrien didn't know what to say, he felt flattered, but also upset because he was yelled at. "I'm sorry for yelling at you, I just hate when people talk badly about Chat, because all in all, he's just as important, if not more than Ladybug." Now he didn't feel as bad for being yelled at, and his self esteem was now through the roof. "Dudette, why exactly did you yell at him?" As soon as hands were slammed on the table, Alya started recording, and still was so she wasn't asking any questions. "I said that Chat wasn't important and that I bet Ladybug wishes she had a different partner." Alya didn't stop recording there though, so she asked the simp-I mean, the Chat Noir fan a question that could've killed her. "Why are you so passionate about Chat anyways M? Do you like him or something? Does he give you roses or anything like that? Are you guys dating!?" Marinette started choking on air, (like I do all the time) "Alya what are you talking about? I do not like him like that, he hasn't given me anything, and we're not dating! How did that question even form- actually nevermind, your brain is completely full of weird things we do not discuss." She sighed, Alya shrugged as a way of agreeing with her about her brain being completely full of weird and interesting things, but she enjoyed talking about them. "Hey Nino, can I talk with you about something?" Adrien asked his best friend, Nino nodded, as he led the both of them to behind a bookshelf secluded from everyone else. "What's up dude?" Adrien was worried about telling his best friend his secret identity, but if Ladybug told a friend, then so could he. "This is really important Nino, and you're my best friend, so I want you to be the first to know." Nino spoke out, "You have a crush on Marinette don't you?" Adrien was confused on why that was the first thing Nino thought of. "What? No, anyways, you know how you're carapace and Alya's Rena Rouge, and you know each other's identities?" He nodded, indicating Adrien can go on. "Well, I'm Chat Noir, and I trust you." Nino's face turned to one of shock, but then turned to one of seriousness. "I'm glad you trusted me with this dude, I appreciate it, and I promise I will keep this a secret, even from Alya." Adrien gave a small smile to his best friend, as he did the same. "Thank you Nino, it feels good to get that off my chest, and to finally have someone to talk to." Nino and Adrien did their classic fist bump, as a symbol to show their friendship.
