3rd person POV
Adrien walked through the gates and walked up the stairs leading to the front doors of his house. Before he had come into the view of his house's security cameras, he put the bag of pastries from Marinette into his bag, to hide them from his father. As soon as Adrien walked through the front doors he saw his father standing at the top of the main staircase in this huge mansion. "Adrien! Where have you been for the past 2 hours!? Fencing ended two and a half hours ago." Adrien looked up at his father, making eye contact, his father had a stern look on his face. "After fencing was over, I went to the library, while I was waiting I did 20 minutes of my Chinese lessons-" His father cut him off before he could continue explaining. "What were you waiting for? If I may be so bold as to ask." Adrien cleared his throat, and continued explaining the situation to his father. "I was waiting for my friend Marinette, I asked her earlier if she could help tutor me a bit. She in fact did, she helped me a lot actually, although she didn't get to help me with history." His father looked at him confused. "Why didn't you get into history, isn't that the subject your grades have been dropping the most in?" Adrien nodded at him. "Yes, but as I've been so distracted lately, I've had a hard time focusing in class, so Marinette had to help me with a few things, helping with a few homework assignments and some things I didn't understand. But we plan to continue tomorrow, especially since history is very hard for me, and Marinette always gets the highest scores in history class." Gabriel nodded "I see, tomorrow after fencing, bring Ms. Dupain-Cheng here for your tutoring sessions, however many there may be, I would like it if they are all held here." Adrien nodded as Gabriel headed for his office. Adrien headed for his own room to put his bag away and to begin his piano lessons. After 20 minutes of practice and finishing putting everything away, he heard Natalie call for him. Before heading downstairs, he quickly texted Marinette. 'Hey Marinette, quick question about the pastries.' She responded soon after. 'Ask away cinnamon roll. Also I did include that in the pastry bag.' He laughed looking at the message. 'Another nickname huh? Anyways, did you make these or were they from your bakery?' She responded soon after. 'Everyone calls you that. Also, yes, I did make them myself.' He smiled before taking the bag of pastries down to the dining room, not before quickly texting a 'see you later'. He made his way downstairs and walked into the dining room. "Hello father, I'm glad I could eat with you tonight." He said, smiling and waving to his father. Gabriel smiled back, not a small one, or one you could make the excuse that he didn't, or a fake one. A genuinely, happy smile, directed at him, Adrien's smile only got brighter. "Glad I could have dinner with you as well Adrien." He sat next to his father, still smiling. Gabriel thought it would be a good idea to talk to his son about his hobbies, friends, or crushes/loves. "So, how has school been? Are you liking it? Do you like your friends and hanging out with them?" He asked, looking at him. Adrien turned to look at him as well. "School's been amazing, I've been loving my classes, the teachers, and most students there." Gabriel smiled softly. "Very good, and your friends?" Adrien looked very excited. "My friends are one of the best things that has happened to me, they're so supportive and kind to others, especially Marinette, she's the sweetest person I know, other than mom." Gabriel looked slightly surprised, 'the sweetest person he knows huh?' he thought to himself. "You really like this Marinette girl huh?" Gabriel said with a smug smirk on his face, looking at his son, seeing his face turn red made him laugh. "I-I mean, she's really pretty, and kind, talented, smart, sassy, brave, and she's a natural born leader, but I don't know how she feels about me, I hope we're friends, and I don't know, I'm still confused myself on my feelings about her." Gabriel smiled at his only son. "I'm glad you told me that son, I'm happy you trusted me enough to tell me. I think you should hang out with your friends more, especially Marinette, so you can get over these confused feelings, and find out if you really like her like that, or only as a friend." Adrien suddenly laughed. "I'm glad you feel that way father, but you saying friend reminds me of a couple months ago, I called her 'just a friend' a lot, it's kinda funny when I think about it now." Gabriel laughed too, they both talked while eating their dinner, soon enough they both finished and started heading to their respective rooms. Before parting though, Gabriel spoke up. "Adrien, wait a moment please." Adrien turned around to face his father. "Yes father?" What he did next surprised everyone, Gorilla, Natalie, Adrien, even Gabriel himself. "Goodnight son, I love you." He said hugging his son. Said son hugged back almost immediately, almost crying happy tears. "Goodnight father, I love you too." They both parted and headed to their rooms, after getting ready for bed, they went to sleep, both very happy.
