Chapter 20

3rd person POV

As soon as the bell rang, signaling everyone could go home, Marinette ran out of the classroom and went straight to her locker. Getting all of her homework and textbooks for the homework, she shoved it into her bag, closed it, and ran straight home. Many people tried to go up to her to talk about the thing with Chat Noir, but they were all too late, for she had run past everyone, not even saying goodbye to Alya or Nino. Instead of going through the main bakery door, Marinette went through the back door, even though word had not gotten out yet, she knew it would soon. "Bonjour maman, papa," Marinette waved to her parents. "Dear, once you've put your stuff away, can you wait in the living area for us?" Marinette was confused but nodded yes. As she opened the door, she saw Chat. She didn't know what he was doing but she was so angry at him. "Good to see you're far away from humiliation." She said coldly, he turned around to face her, "Hey Princess. Judging by your tone of voice and facial expression I'm assuming school went well?" Marinette rolled her eyes. "Just purr-fect." She said in a sarcastic tone before going up to her room to put her stuff away. "W-wha? YOU'RE ANGRY AND YOU STILL MADE A CAT PUN!!!!" She came back down just mere seconds later. "I'm assuming you had a fun day then?" Marinette said looking at Chat. "Yeah I guess, I just chilled in your room for a while, but then I came down and your parents were here." Marinette was astounded, "WHAT!?" She yelled. He scratched his neck nervously, "Well, yeah, so I had to explain to them what was going on, how we've been hanging out for a few months and stuff." Marinette sighed. A moment later the door where Marinette's parents were standing. "Hey maman, papa," Marinette said nervously. "Marinette, I'm very disappointed" Tom (Marinette's dad) said. Marinette's head dropped, she looked at the floor. "THAT YOU DIDN'T TELL US YOU AND CHAT NOIR WERE DATI- I mean, friends. WE WOULD'VE HELPED YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM!!!" Marinette looked up at her father, she had almost forgotten how much her father liked superheroes, Marinette's friends, and his daughter finding love. Sabine laughed. "Chat Noir, sir, why don't you take a seat dear? Me and you can talk while Marinette and Tom make something for all of us." Chat Noir nodded, "Okay ma'am" Sabine shook her head. "Please, call us by our names." He nodded and sat down, and began talking with Sabine while Marinette and Tom went into the kitchen to prepare something. "Dad, can I tell you something?" Marinette whispered over to her father. "Of course you can, but why are you whispering?" Tom was very confused, "Because it's a secret that Chat can't hear, you can tell mom later." Tom nodded. At the same time Chat had said something similar to Marinette's mother. "Mrs. Dupain-Cheng, err, Sabine? Can I tell you something? I would like to tell my father, but I don't know how he would feel about it." Chat had whispered. Sabine nodded. "I feel more comfortable telling you and Mr- I mean, Tom, you guys are nice to me, and you feel more like parents than my own father." Sabine felt very touched and hugged Chat. "What would you like to tell me?" She said while hugging him. "I've fallen for your daughter." Sabine was very pleasantly surprised. "I'll tell Tom about this, and we'll both help you in any way we can." He smiled very brightly, "Thank you" Sabine smiled. "YESSSS!!!" Tom yelled loudly from the kitchen. ~A moment before~ "I've fallen for Chat Noir dad." Tom was very shocked, and very excited. "YESSSS!!!" Marinette saw her mother and Chat look at them. "Darling, are you okay?" Sabine asked, Tom looked over at them. "Of course dear, Marinette here just told me something about something that happened at school. Don't worry." Sabine looked over at Marinette. "Y-Yeah, I'll tell you about it later mom." Marinette smiled. Chat and Sabine continued their conversation while Marinette and her father continued baking.
