Chapter 16

3rd person POV

Marinette woke up very happy that morning and decided to put her hair up in buns. She chose a pink long sleeved off the shoulder top with a denim skirt that had her signature design. She got her backpack and her bag for Tikki and headed downstairs, grabbing a croissant on her way, then heading to school. She walked to the front and saw Alya with a choker, some denim shorts, a white crop top that included a fox on the front of the shirt. To tie it all together she had a purple flannel tied around her waist, her hair in a ponytail. Alya looked up from her phone and saw Marinette. Marinette waved to her and they both hugged. "Girl, you look beautiful, and very happy this morning? What's got you in such a good mood?" Alya looked her friend up and down while talking. "You don't look so bad yourself Als, but you might get dress-coded." Alya scoffed, and rolled her eyes playfully. "Why do you think I have the flannel? I knew I might get dress-coded, so I brought it with me today. Plus it ties the outfit together, no pun intended. But don't you try to change the subject." Alya said, pointing an accusing finger at her best friend. Marinette held her hands up in surrender replying to Alya. "I didn't try to change the subject, I was just saying that you might get dress-coded, but here you are Miss Smartie." Marinette said, looking at Alya. "You trying to impress Nino or something? Cause believe me, he's already very impressed and in love with you." Alya blushed, Marinette had a smug look on her face, then answered Alya's question. "Come with me real quick, I want to tell you why I'm so happy, but in private." Alya nodded, her blush dying down a bit. Marinette took Alya's hand and led her to the basement of the school. Once they were settled down there, she started to explain. "I'm gonna start from the beginning to give you some context." Alya nodded, Marinette cleared her throat and began. "Chat Noir visited me this one night and after that we've been hanging out ever since, he just pops through my trap door or window and we hang out for awhile until he has to leave again." Alya interrupted quickly before letting Marinette continue. "Does he just barge in or does he knock? Has he ever walked in on you changing!?" Marinette shook her head and continued. "He knocks every time. But a few weeks ago, I decided to make him something, and I gave it to him after it was finished. It was a costume thing, so his kwami could rest y'know. And I realized last night that I had fallen out of love with Adrien, and in love with Chat Noir." She finished, she looked Alya in the eyes. She looked shocked for a moment, then she got really excited. "OH MY GOSH!!!!! YESS!!! YOU TWO WOULD LOOK SO CUTE TOGETHER!!! AHHH!!! MARICHAT FOR LIFEEEEE!!!! *gasp* WE NEED TO TELL NINO AND ADRIEN, only if you feel comfortable with telling them though." Alya smiled once she finished, she was very excited. Marinette shook her head while smiling. "Maybe, I'll think about telling them, but we do have class, so we should probably start getting ready, Nino might be wondering where you are." They both walked out, both smiling, but only one was blushing. They found Adrien and Nino and all headed for the locker room when an announcement came on. "All students head to your classroom and drop off your bags there, then return to the gym area." The main four looked between each other, all with puzzled expressions. They did as told and put their bags at their seats and headed back to the gym area. Alya put on her flannel, she was NOT going to get sent home when she looked this cute. They all stood together as more confused students piled in. Finally, once all the students were in the gym area, Mr. Damocles and Chloé walked up to the top of the stairs with the doors shut behind them. "Ms. Bourgeois has something she would like to say to all of you." Mr. Damocles spoke, Chloe looked slightly upset, but looked confident at the same time. "I would like to apologize to all of you, I was awful to all of you, I made some of the girls here cry because I was petty and bratty with my crush on Adrien. I bullied many of you, including Rose, Juleka, Ivan, Mylene, Alix, Nathaniel, Max, Kim, Zoe, Marc, Sabrina, Nino, Alya, and especially Marinette. I'm sorry, I promise to be better, and I will make up for my actions. I should apologize to some of the teachers too, I either used my father to scare them to get what I wanted, or I would just be disrespectful and got away with it. I hope you can all find it in your hearts to give me a second chance, because I will try my hardest to be better to all of you." What Chloe said shocked everyone, no one ever expected Chloé Bourgeois to apologize to anyone, let alone the whole entire school, teachers and all. "There are some people I would like to thank. Adrien, for being my friend since childhood even though I was awful to people, he saw past that and I thank him now. I would also like to thank Sabrina, even though I treated her like a slave and was cruel to her, she stayed with me and helped me with things even if she didn't like the task. You deserve a better friend Sabrina, and I would like to be a better person to you. The final person I would like to thank is Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Everyone gasped, Marinette being the most shocked, Chloé, thanking her, what did she do? "I have bullied Marinette for as long as I can remember, and yet she never changed, she always was kind to others, sometimes even kind to me, she never let me get to her and I admire her for that, yesterday, I realized, I had taken it too far with her, I read something very personal of hers aloud and insulted someone she seems to know very well, I got slapped in the face, after years of torment to her and others, she finally had enough, I thank her because she was the reason I'm apologizing to everyone, she helped me become a better person. Thank you Marinette, I hope you can forgive me or at least give me a second chance." Chloé finished, her eyes tearing up, Marinette started tearing up herself, she smiled and walked up the stairs and up to Chloé. She walked up to her and hugged her, Chloé started crying and hugged back. Marinette finally broke away and all the students started heading towards their classes, Marinette, Alya, Adrien, Nino, and Chloé all walked to their class, all happy and all had tear stained cheeks, both sad and happy tears. They sat in their respective seats as the lesson started.
