Chapter 8

3rd person POV

After a few more days of Chat visiting Marinette, she had finally finished her surprise for Chat Noir. He had hopped in through her window as usual, but something was off. Marinette wasn't in the room! "Princess, where are you? C'mon princess, stop hiding!" Chat Noir paced around the room calling out for his princess. Tears were forming at the corners of his eyes and his voice started breaking. "Marinette, please where are you?" A second later Marinette emerged from the trap door leading down to her living area. She closed the door and turned around. "Hey kit-" she was cut off by Chat running to her, and embracing her, tears streaming down his face. She was surprised at first, but quickly realized the situation around them and hugged back. "Minou, it's okay, I'm right here, you're okay." She rubbed circles around his back to calm him down, which worked quite well. "Are you okay now minou?" He didn't respond, he only nodded. Marinette led him up to her loft bed and pet his head. "I'll be right back, I'm gonna go get some treats." He nodded again, and Marinette went down to collect the pastries from downstairs. She came back up seconds later with a tray in one hand and a box in the other. Once Marinette and the pastries were safely planted on the bed, she also set the box down on the floor near her bed. Chat had a confused look on his face, "What's in the box?" He asked, "Oh, you know, just your surprise." Marinette smiled seeing Chat's face light up with excitement and curiosity. "C-can I open it?" She nodded and gave the box to him. It was a black box that was topped with a pink ribbon. He hastily opened the box to find a black hoodie with a green paw print on it, black pants, cat ears, and a black mask identical to his. "Princess, d-did you really do this for me?" She nodded "You use a lot of your kwami's energy when visiting me, so I decided to make you something for your kwami to rest." Chat jumped on Marinette, taking her in a tight embrace. "Thank you princess, thank you thank you." She hugged him back just as tight, before they both let go. "Wait, how do you know what a kwami is?" Marinette's face turned slightly pale and laughed nervously before answering. "W-well, remember, I was Multimouse, so of course I would know what a kwami is" he seemed satisfied with her answer, I mean it did make sense and it wasn't a total lie on Marinette's behalf. "Go, you have to try it on. I have something you can change behind and I can get something for your kwami." Chat smiled like an idiot and jumped off the loft area. "Claws in." A green light flashed from behind the board (I don't know what it's called.) While Adrien was changing, Plagg flew up to meet with Marinette. "Hi Marinette, you already know me so I don't need to introduce myself. Chat talks about you a lot." She blushed a light pink before responding. "Nice see you again Plagg, what's your favorite food?" Plagg didn't hesitate at all and was quick to answer. "Camembert is my favorite, but I enjoy other cheeses too, I also like it with bread." Marinette smiled before heading down to retrieve the cheese.
