Chapter 17

Marinette POV

"Today during lunch, and after school, you may work on your hero or villain projects. And remember, you have homework that I want done today, your history homework is due tomorrow." And with that, the class was dismissed. Every student packed their bags and headed to the lunch room, except Adrien, as we were all walking to the door, Ms. Bustier stopped him. "Adrien, would you come here please?" He looked over at me, Nino, and Alya, we all nodded, indicating we would wait for him, we all stationed ourselves outside the door, I could hear every word they were saying. "What do you need Ms. Bustier?" He asked, standing in front of her desk, making eye contact with her. "Adrien, I wanted to ask how you're coming along with your homework, I know that history has never been the easiest subject for you. If you need any help, I'm here for you if you have any questions or if you need any help at all." She said to him, I could practically hear her smile, Ms. Bustier was one of the nicest teachers, it was an odd occurrence when she wasn't smiling. I heard Adrien speak up again. "Thank you Ms, but I already have Marinette helping me. I asked if she could help me and she agreed to teach me." I didn't hear anything they said next as Alya tapped my shoulder. "Hey, Nino and I are going to go get some food, can you wait here and come back to the lunch room with Adrien? We'll save you guys a seat." She and Nino headed down the hall to the lunch room, I shook my head, she was either about to go make out with Nino, or they were planning something to get us alone together. I waited patiently outside until they were done talking. Adrien walked out the door and bumped right into me. He only stumbled back a little, while I stumbled back onto the floor. "Oh! Sorry about that Marinette, I didn't see you there." He said helping me up off the ground. "It's fine, I'm used to it by now, thanks though." I said as I got my balance back and both feet were firmly on the ground. "Where's Alya and Nino?" He asked, looking around. "Oh, Alya said they were heading to the lunch room to get some food, I don't know if they were telling the truth or just wanted an excuse to make-out." I said looking over to him, after making eye contact we both started laughing immediately. "Come on, if they really did save us a table they're going to start thinking that we're the ones making out." I said giggling, we both made our way down to the lunchroom to start eating with the couple. After we were all done eating, we headed down to the library to continue our projects. There was small conversation here and there, but all of us were mainly focused on our projects. After about an hour, the bell finally rang, signaling it was finally time to pack our stuff and head back to class. We were all heading down to Mrs. Mendeleiev's classroom, when I felt eyes on me, I turned to see Adrien staring right at me, he quickly looked away, I could see a blush come across his face. "Why were you staring?" I asked, he looked back at me, I could see out of the corner of my eye that Nino and Alya were looking back at us. "W-Well, I mean, how could I not? I-I think you look really pretty today. Not that I don't think you look pretty everyday!! S-Sorry did I make you uncomfortable!? Wait, how would that make someone uncomfortable!? I-I'm rambling on!!" Adrien's face just got redder the more he spoke, I laughed, I could hear Alya and Nino laughing as well. "Thank you for the compliment" I winked at him as we all made our way into the classroom and sat down. Even though I sat behind him, I could tell his face was very red. Now I can see why Chat likes it so much. It's fun to see the other person's red face. I guess I chuckled a little too loudly for Ms. Mendeleiev's likings. "Something funny Ms. Dupain-Cheng?" She asked, slightly glaring at me. "Sorry Ms., I just remembered something I saw." I said quickly lying, while looking at her, after being Ladybug for a few years, I had become quite good at lying. She nodded at me and began the lesson. Alya passed a note to me, which I quickly and discreetly took, another pro of being Ladybug. I was very good at sneaking things. The note read 'What were you actually laughing at?' I quickly wrote on it and passed it back. Alya took it and read it 'Chat likes to get me flustered, and I figured out why he likes to so much' Alya looked at me with a confused look, I simply nodded my head in Adrien's direction, she got a better angle of his face than I did, so she should be able to figure it out. She looked over at Adrien and nodded at me, slightly chuckling herself, she had to cover her mouth to not get in trouble. Mrs. Mendeleive looked around the classroom for the source of the sound but found nothing. ~A little while later~ Me and Adrien walked out to the front of the school, he opened the car door for me and after he saw I was seated, he got in as well. (I just realized that I didn't create a conversation where Adrien asks about her going over to his house, and I'm not going to right now, soo I'll just say that during lunch while they were working on their projects that he asked her about it) It didn't take long to get to the Agreste mansion, it was only a little bit awkward. We both walked up the stairs leading to the front doors, and walked inside. "Welcome to our home Ms. Dupain-Cheng" I looked up to the top of the staircase to see Gabriel Agreste at the top. I smiled softly, maintaining eye contact. "Bonjour monsieur Agreste, it's a pleasure to meet you in person." He smiled back, it was a genuine smile, one that the public eye never saw. "The library is through that door to your left, you may study in there." He said pointing to a door to the left of us, me and Adrien looked over to see the door, Adrien seemed surprised, either this library was new, or was only new to Adrien. He nodded at his father, and we both walked into the library to begin studying. We sat down near a table farther away from the door, I began pulling out everything necessary to help Adrien. "So, you ready to start monsieur Agreste?" He laughed and nodded, "Whenever you're ready ms. midnight" I looked over at him "Using the nickname huh? I think I might like it." He laughed and we started the tutoring session. The tutoring session ended after about 2 hours, Adrien seemed to understand it well. I started packing my things and we both left the library. I was about to walk through the front doors when I was stopped by a hand on my shoulder. "Would you like to be driven to the bakery?" Adrien asked, looking at me. I smiled at him but shook my head. "Thank you for the offer, but I'm fine with walking home." Adrien seemed reluctant, but nodded. Before I opened the door (again) I was stopped by arms snaking around my waist, Adrien was hugging me from behind, and stopping me from leaving. "Adrien, I have to go home." He was acting like a puppy. "Noooooo" he whined, he buried his face into my back, holding on as tight as he could. I sighed "Adrien let go of me before I make you let go." Adrien continued whining and held on tighter. I sighed once more and did what I had to do. I was able to bend over and flip Adrien onto the ground. "I warned you, did I not?" I asked, looking down at him he nodded. "You did indeed warn me ms. midnight." I wore a cocky smirk on my face and helped him up. "Now I really have to go now, goodbye Adrien, I'll see you tomorrow." I waved to him and walked out the door. He waved me goodbye until I couldn't see him anymore. I walked the whole way back to my house. When the bakery came into view I saw that the closed sign was up. I opened the back door with my keys and locked it again once I was inside and the door was closed behind me. I made sure the bakery lights, and oven were off before turning on the back light and heading upstairs. On the fridge was a note left by none other than my parents, it read as said 'Me and your father not be home tonight, we wanted to tell you earlier, but you weren't home after school, so we decided to write you a note instead, you know what to do, we'll see you soon, call us if there's any problems, love you dear -Sabine' I smiled at the note, I was a bit upset my parents couldn't tell me, but it was partially my fault for not being home sooner. I prepared myself some eggs and toast for dinner. After I finished dinner I quickly got ready for bed. Soon enough, all the blinds and lights were turned off, all windows closed and locked, same with all doors. I took down all pictures and posters of Adrien, replacing them with designs of mine and pictures of friends, a few including Adrien. I replaced Adrien's schedule with my own and sat at my desk, opening the Ladyblog. Soon enough, I hear a knock on my trapdoor, meaning it could only be one person.
