Saphira's POV.
"Why did you do this?" I turned growling at Claude. Just then he smacked me across the face. I was in shock with his strength. Just before I could say something I was injected with copper. I felt my body go limp against the dirt. My dragon was no longer there.
I was too weak to move. "Pretty hair, amazing eyes, purple regal dragon form, all along being a dragon mate" sang Claude as if it was a checklist. He moved my brown highlighted hair out of my face and saw my birthmark under my eye. "Very special," he said.
I couldn't move my head away from him. I was just breathing heavily, not able to part my lips. My eyes roamed around looking for something to protect myself with. "Calm down, nobody is coming," said Claude. I started to panic more as I felt myself getting dizzier.
My eyes began to feel heavy. Not even in my state could I keep my eyes open. The copper that he injected into me weakened me. I knew if copper was injected it could be more than poisonous. It could be deadly and even fatal. My eyes shut and everything went blank. The last thing I felt was Claude's hands.
Hours later
My eyes shot open. I looked at where I was as I scanned around me. I was in a glass box. I slammed my hands against the glass as hard as I could. I screamed as loudly as possible as I remembered what was going on. "Somebody help me" I yelled. I screamed as I continued to bang on the glass cage.
The injected copper weakened me. Just then the door opened and I pressed my back along the cage. I was scared of what could happen. "My bride to be, do not be scared" said Claude. "I am not your bride" I said, backing away as he walked to the right side of the class cage. It was like a coffin made of glass.
The only difference was that I was standing up. I could see the button that could turn this into a laying coffin. I knew once this was over I was going to be buried under the ground. This was his plan all along and not even hours ago I signed up for this so that dragons could have peace. I signed up so people could turn their backs on me. I did it for people I didn't care about.
With the truth unfolding itself I pressed my hands in front me. The glass was pressed against my palm. "Why me?" I asked him. Claude looked at me and cracked up with laughter. He pointed at me as if I was some type of joke. I was ashamed of myself. I tried to step out from the direction of his finger.
He laughed harder but with more intensity. I didn't feel dizzy when he walked. "How many Druids are here?" I asked him. He stopped laughing and gave me a deadly stare. "You haven't passed out yet or stayed asleep?" He asked me with a smile. I shook my head not knowing. "You are in the middle of Druid territory" he replied as he raised both his hands as if he were god.
I sunk to the floor and sat down staring straight at him. My eyes were penetrated with fear. I felt my veins beginning to burn. "You injected copper didn't you?" I said quietly. He gave me an evil grin. "You only have a limited time until you are killed. This glass coffin you are in will be the treaty of your death.
I looked at him confused. "Lisette knew this would happen and told me to put you out of your misery. She knew you would sacrifice yourself for the greater good. Dragon mates have such a big heart it's your weakness" said Claude. I looked at him but I gritted my teeth. I just met mine but now I am here waiting for my death. Lisette planned this behind my back.
I connected the dots easily. She snapped at me for this reason. Me and all the female dragons before me were here to just be her alarms. She betrayed me which I knew all along but I let happen even to myself. "You were so easy to be fooled even by your god" laughed Claude as he pressed his hands on the glass.
I backed away and tried to look away from him. He gave me dirty looks. "Druids will always come back but you won't. Last female dragon mate to live and I hear there won't be a next one. Lisette told me. She doomed all those before you so you can be her security but females were useful and males were only stronger" said Claude evilly. I just listened to him talk.
I may be in this cage but I can at least hear his plan. Learning more about Lisette at least I understand her hatred for what she has done to me. Friends were just some disguise to her. I know deep down she regrets and will do the right thing one day. I hope it is in this universe that she realizes that. She made me a fool.
I stood up from where I sat. As I placed my hands on the glass Claude looked at me with crazed eyes. "You will marry me and when the copper enters your system and poisons you from the inside out you will die and be buried in this coffin" said Claude with a smile. I growled as I looked at him. "No, I have a mate," I begged.
"That you only just met. He wouldn't risk his life for you and if he does he will be like every other male" said Claude. He laughed again and I dropped to my knees. The glass coffin is not breaking or suffocating me at all. He was right, what am I supposed to do now?
