Saphira's POV.

I woke up shaking like I was having a stroke. "Saphira woke up. It's okay I'm right here" said Riven sounding worried. My body was moving out of control and my brain was burning like it was on fire. The copper was in my blood. Riven was trying to decide either to leave me or not. Just then he walked away to find stuff to help me. I was able to catch my breath.

Riven's POV

I woke up with her shaking. The copper was going to kill her. I ran through so many thoughts in my head. When I found some water I took some in my hands to stop her from overheating. I ran back to her to see her standing. I quickly grabbed her to turn her to face me. "Saphira," I said worriedly, looking at her face. She gave me sad eyes. "Are you okay?" I asked her.

She hugged me tightly, not wanting to let go. I took her in my arms. She scared me. I felt my heart beating out of my chest. "Take me to Lisette," she told me. I shook my head no. Why didn't they know what they could do to her? They can separate us again or give her to Claude. I took a deep breath knowing she was going to die. None of this made sense to go back.

I quickly shifted into my red dragon and took her in my talon. Saphira may have realized her life is more at risk. Maybe Lisette can save her. I quickly flew us to the volcano and there she was to greet us. "Help her" I roared. Lisette looked at me in anger. "Don't roar at me" she snapped. I glared at her as I let her see her friend. Saphira looked like she was at the brink of death. Lisette gasped as she ran to hug her.

"No," she said. She looked angry then concerned. I grabbed Saphira in my arms after I shifted into a human. "Riven my mate," Saphira said in a whisper. I watched as she passed away right in front of me. I roared so loudly the volcano erupted. "There she is gone. The last female mate" said Lisette, spitting in annoyance. I growled at her to shut up. She turned to me with rage but I glared at her to silence.

I just met her. This couldn't be the end of the story. The volcano erupted again and I remembered everything that led to this moment. Lisette was not god. The volcano, it started with the volcano. I shifted into my dragon and picked her up. "What are you doing? She is gone" spat Lisette. I knew this was crazy but everything points to our history and the important things. Dragons came from the volcano.

"When I come back you will no longer be the ruler. I will make sure dragons have their own land to call home. You are an awful person Lisette and this was your last chance of being a god" I said as I flew to the volcano I instantly dove into the lava with Saphira in my claws. I was too scared to lose her now. This was my chance.

Saphira's POV

I remember my last words and Riven holding me. Lisette was there and I had no idea what happened. I just remember waking up like it was a bad dream. I was in Riven's arms as he walked me to Lisette. I looked at him and at the floor. I turned to face her. Lisette looked at us in disbelief. "She is alive" she said as if it was impossible. I did die here. That was real.

"Dragons will be free from your grasp after the Druids are taken care of" said Riven as power radiated off him. Our contact together made him stronger than she was. Lisette looked in fear. She scoffed and walked away. "My army is yours," she said, staying in her castle. All the dragons looked confused to see us.

"Did something happen?" they asked us. "We will be free from Lisette and start our own groups," said Riven. They all looked at us and cheered free from her reign but others disapproved and stayed with her. "We will fight to get the Druid out of this continent," said Riven. He spoke like a true leader. It was remarkable.

I know I should have been honest but Riven was also hiding something. How did he bring me back to life? I think he knew power like that was too strong. I know I had eyes on me. Both of us were no longer safe. "Get the dragons ready, we will attack tonight" said Riven. Everyone cheered and quickly gathered armor. I stood in silence afraid to speak. I may have made a mistake.

Riven placed me on my feet and hugged me. "You will not die ever again" said Riven as he kissed the top of my forehead. A part of me wished we weren't so attached together. I wish I could have hated Riven instead of loving him so soon. Time was running out and I melted by his kiss. I let his lips stay on my forehead as long as he wanted. We needed this.

"You will stay here, away from danger," said Riven. "No, we are stronger together," I said, grabbing his arm. He sighed but knew I couldn't fight. "I will be high in the sky like the white dragon" I told him. He looked at me remembering our conversation. I will be undetectable flying at night. Purple scales and all. Riven agreed and let me only if I was out of harm's way. I knew I was going to be in as little pain.

Despite Riven's fangs and wings, I found myself falling for him. Just meeting a stranger we both fell for each other instantly. Our connection was too powerful. Riven just saved me from death itself. Now I am here looking for an answer or just an escape. Riven was in danger.
