Saphira's POV.

We began the attack with Riven leading the way. I stayed in the sky helping those who joined the fight. I looked below us as Druids came attacking us. Flying in the air only to shoot fire at the ones below. Dragon's falling from the sky. It was a massacre below us.

Dragon's being trapped in combat. It was nothing like I've ever seen before. That's when I saw Claude. He found me but had no reach. I watched as he pointed at his wrist. I stopped in fear. I was flapping my wings staying in place. My purple dragon high in the sky.

I knew this battle's fate. I came back to life for this moment. A legendary one that would be told for years. Druids were going to die. All the copper out of my system for this. Me being at full health and strength struggled as I looked at Claude. I got closer and felt myself getting dizzy. I shook my head. I had to stay up above them for protection.

I sighted Riven's red dragon and swooped down. I knocked him out of the way as I threw up. In the middle of battle. Druids we're closer now that I was on the floor. We both shifted to our humans. Riven grabbed my hand and led me to safety. "What were you thinking?" he said, panicked. I finally felt better as we got into the forest.

Flash Back

I remember the moment my eyes awoke after we slept in each other's arms. Claude came to me saying how every dragon would be free like Riven hoped for. Claude and the Druids would never return to this continent again. It's everything Riven wanted. There was a huge catch to this. Although it was secretive.

"Only fate will decide whether you kill him or save him" said Claude, showing me a copper blade. I tried to grab it but it disappeared. "It will show in your hands when the time is right," said Claude. I knew he thought this was better than his original plan. This knife was the only thing that could kill a dragon with such precision.

Claude stood me up on my feet. "Choose wisely or I will come and destroy everything" he threatened. I was too scared to speak or say a word. I watched as he vanished in thin air and that is when Riven came running back to me. That was what happened.

Present

Now I have to find it in myself to kill my dragon mate. He has only made me not alone. I quickly pull him closer to me and press my lips to his. I knew what we had to do. As a war is going on I get Riven and start making out with him like it was the last time it was going to happen. Of course it couldn't just end there.

Riven was desperate and soon enough he was inside me. Having sex in the middle of this territory and not stopping until I felt our teeth sinking into each other branding both of us. Once we closed the gap Riven pushed me away from him. I felt hurt beyond words.

"You tricked me. You liar" said Riven grabbing his clothes and putting them back on. I shook my head, backing away in fear. "It's not what you think" I said as tears came down my eyes. "You used me after I saved your life. Where is it?" He asked me. I couldn't believe this was happening. "Where is what?" I asked him.

"The copper knife you were thinking of killing me with" said Riven. The tears cut in my throat. "I was never going to kill you. I love you" I said pleading. I put my clothes on and tried to tell him the truth. "After what I did to save your life. If I was mistaken I would have been dead with you but I went through that because I couldn't lose you" he yelled with tears in his eyes.

Just then I became dizzy. I turned to see Claude standing and applauding us. "This is what you wanted, Druids killed" he said evilly. I shook my head not knowing what to do. Too many emotions were running through my mind. "This isn't what I wanted," I said. "It's what you deserve" said Claude as he vanished and the knife appeared in my hand. I felt it weakened me.

The copper blade was heavier than expected. I turned to look at Riven but his eyes only matched the red in his eyes from anger. "What could you possibly be thinking?" said Riven. He looked at me with so much anger. "I still love you and you did this," he said. "No" I said, cutting through my own tears and sobbing.

"No I couldn't" I said crying. "I could never do this to you" I said continuing. "I still love you" he said as his head hung low. "I love you too" I said as the words found me. He looked at me with so much uncertainty. "I never wanted what I deserved," I said, dropping to my knees. "My parents trying to kill me, Lisette using me, almost married Claude, died, and now this" I cried.

Riven walked towards me and touched my skin. It was a branding of our marks. He showed me where his mark was. "I'm tired, I couldn't even live much less enjoy life" I said feeling so trapped this was the most I have talked to someone about what was going on in my life. I was finally releasing it out for the one person I hold dear in my life and could never thank.

He wrapped his arms around me. "This was all life gave us. Nothing but uncertainty. Our fate was sealed the second we were born" said Riven. I cried in his arms as we stayed hidden in the trees. I didn't know what to do. Was I selfish or was I listening to our sealed fate instead. Nothing is ever clear.
