Pulling out three chairs, Mr. Black gestured for us all to sit. I was tightened into my chair using handcuffs and leg restraints, but at least no one was touching me anymore.
"First of all, you might be wondering how I found out where you would be," Jeffery said to me. "Well, it all started when my son had a fling with this girl here."
He gestured, and someone stepped out of the shadows.
"Allie?" I asked, confused.
She glared at me. "I hate you," she whispered. Then, fire flaring in her eyes, she continued. "You see, I had just gone on a short vacation, and the day I came back, I met you. You seemed nice enough, and I started to like you." She took a deep breath and continued. "Then, you started to steal my man. So I slept with him, just to make sure he was mine. But I noticed him watching you, more and more, because you were the one else hadn't managed to add to his collection yet, prancing away whenever he started to get close. And finally, finally he starts to stop sleeping with me and accepting my love. He started to reject me, Stacy. I don't think you know what that feels like."
Allie was starting to foam at the mouth now, and she started to walk closer and closer to me.
"You want to know what it feels like?" She asked, slow and deadly. "Well, at first, it feels like this."
She slapped me across the face, hard, one time. I jerked back and stared at her, eyes watering.
"Allie," I started, looking at her.
"No," she said, slapping me again, this time digging in her fingernails. "No, don't tell me you're sorry, or that you pity me. I absolutely, positively hate you, and nothing you say can make me like you, ever again. Because you started to reject me too. And that was a knife in the gut."
Which she decided had to be shown what that felt like too. A knife was pulled out and thrown at me, barely missing most of me and embedding itself in the back of the chair. It had just nicked me, and I drew in a sharp breath of pain. Allie was then restrained and pulled away, but they couldn't stop her screams of hatred. I watched her all the way out, slowly softening my gaze, but not my feelings.
That conniving b*tch.
Adam had gotten up and pulled the knife out of the wood, and I slumped in the chair, telling him with my eyes not to so anything more. There was more in store here, and I had to take it alone. Any affection Adam showed toward me would hurt him even more- and maybe me.
I thought I saw pain in his eyes as he walked back to his seat, but by the time he had sat down, it was gone.
"Well, that was... unexpected. What a nut." Jeffery said, laughing lightly. "Now, we need to get back on business. Allie had been following you for right around a month now, reporting to me where you had been going and what interactions you've been having with my son."
I was going to shift, but decided against it, as it would have hurt way too much.
"Well, since we found out how much you meant to my son, Allie was more than willing to give you up and let you die. In fact, she volunteered to do it herself, kill you that is."
I rolled my eyes, putting on a mask of indifference. "I'm sure she did, the little chienne," I sneered, every word I said cut into my side like another knife.
He chuckled again, and I detested him for it. "So much fire. You sure learned how to pick 'em son."
Adam's mask was on too. "I'm learned nothing from you, you douche."
Mr. Black's eyes narrowed, and he walked up to me and dug his fingers into my side. I jerked away, muffling my scream of pain. He just pushed them in again and I bit my lip to keep the sounds inside.
