The next morning, when I woke up, someone was tapping at the window. Last night, Adam had had a serious round of it. And it went on for a long time. A long, long time. Which disturbed my sleeping time.

So, when I got up in my Bobby Jack pajamas and opened the curtains to find him standing on my balcony, what did I do?

That's right. I closed them and fell back asleep.

I pulled back the curtains and reveled in the power of a Saturday morning. Until I saw what was happening outside. In the sunshine.

"SACY! IT'S SOWING!" Lizzy screamed from downstairs. Although it was a Saturday, Mom was working. As always.

"Help me wif my sow suff!" she yelled at me. Somebody help me. The queen has awoken and now she demands her servant. Sighing, I resigned myself to my fate, and wandered downstairs to help Liz into her snow gear. After she had breakfast.

I opened the fridge. Reheated pancakes with Nutella sounded good right now. I pulled those two out, along with the syrup for Lizzy. I put the pancakes in the microwave, hit some buttons, and let them cook as I set the table. When the microwave beeped for the first time, I ran over and opened it. I couldn't stand the sound of the electronic beeping.

After slathering mine with Nutella and helping Lizzy with the syrup, I shoveled some reheated pancakes into my face, and watched as Liz did the same thing. She always wanted a plate of syrup with a side of pancake. And, as unhealthy as I ate, I knew that she could be seriously ill by doing that. I poured some milk for both of us and drank mine in a second. I couldn't stand warm milk either.

"All done," she proclaimed, setting her dishes into the sink and stretching for the tap. I turned the water on and let the syrup wash down the drain. What my mother didn't know wouldn't hurt her. The pipes, maybe, but not my mother.

I walked back upstairs, and put some pants and a warm long sleeve, oversize t-shirt on. Then, slipping on a sweatshirt, I walked back downstairs and helped Liz put on snowpants, gloves, and boots. She slid on her winter coat all by herself and zipped it up. Just to let you know, she was very proud of that.

After all that was done we walked outside, and I had a hard time not just wheeling around and going right back inside, as much as playing with Liz was calling my name.

Adam was out there with Trevor. And Lizzy had caught sight of him.

"A'am!" she screamed. Trevor freaked and launched a snowball at her. It misses by a mile, but almost hit me. I narrowed my eyes at him, mentally promising him death if he so much as nicked me next time.

Like a deer caught in headlights, Adam looked slowly up and froze. Lizzy flung herself at him, and he barely caught her.

"Lord, Lizzy," he grunted. "You're getting big!"

Narrowing her eyes at him, just like I taught her, she said, "Did you jus' call me fat?" I held in my giggles.

His eyes got even bigger. I fell in the snow and started rolling around, hoping it muffled my laughter. Actually, I really didn't care.

"N-no," he said, drawing the word out. "I, uh, I called you tall. Yep, tall. And cute!"

"Mm-hmm," she replied skeptically. "You jus' sayin' tha' 'cuz Sissy was gonna kick you."

And with hat, she wiggled out of his arms and ran over to me. "Ma'e me a sowbaw sissy," she whispered in my ear.

Covertly, I packed a snowball for Lizzy, and handed it to her. Quickly, she flung it at Adam's unsuspecting back.
