A part of me is moving on, but another part is still stuck with you
The night air was cool, and the soft rustling of leaves in the garden provided a stark contrast to the tension between the two brothers. Raj settled onto the bench, his back hunched slightly, hands resting on his knees as if to brace himself for the conversation ahead. Him, on the other hand, remained standing, his posture rigid, arms folded across his chest, the distance between them heavy with unspoken words.
"Ansh bhai, let's be honest," Raj began, his voice low but resolute. "I know you're not thrilled about this marriage, and truthfully, neither am I." His eyes flickered up to meet his, but his older brother's expression remained unreadable. "I love Mishti."
His fists clenched instinctively at Raj's confession. He fought to keep his composure, though a storm raged inside him. His years of effort, his silent sacrifices—were they about to crumble because of Raj's selfish desires?
Raj continued, oblivious or indifferent to his brother's growing tension. "I know Mishti still cares about me. She'll forgive me. We can have the life we once imagined. You know that, right? Please, bhai... do something. Stop this wedding before it's too late."
His arms remained crossed, his jaw tight as he spoke in a cold, measured tone. "And what about your own commitment, Raj? What about the woman you're about to marry?"
Raj, unfazed, waved off the question. "I'll marry her... then divorce her. It's just a formality. I want Mishti. I always have."
His restraint snapped, his voice rising despite his efforts to contain it. "Is Mishti just your plaything, Raj? Is that what she is to you?" His words lashed out, hitting harder than he'd intended.
Raj blinked, caught off guard. "What do you mean?"
"Enough," he said, turning on his heel, his patience at its limit. He didn't want to hear another word. But before he could take a step, Raj grabbed his arm, yanking him back.
"Where's this attitude coming from, huh?" Raj's tone turned mocking, his lips curling into a sneer. "She's just an orphan, bhai. What do you think you'll give her? You have nothing. No money, no status. How will you take care of her? You can't even buy her a dress without scraping by."
His blood boiled, but he refused to give Raj the satisfaction of seeing him react. "It's none of your concern," he said, voice cold and dismissive. He tried to walk away again, but Raj's words sliced through the air, stopping him in his tracks.
"Cancel this wedding, bhai. You know she'll never be happy with you. Her love is for me, not you." Raj's smirk widened, arrogance oozing from his every word.
He turned slowly, his eyes dark with barely restrained fury. He stepped closer, his voice low, dangerous. "If you have the courage, go and talk to your parents. They're the ones who want her to marry me. And don't forget about the deal, Raj. Tina's father still has those videos. Do you really want to risk everything?"
