06.00, your apartmentThe beeping sound of the alarm clock awaken you from your peaceful slumber. Ouside, the sun has yet to cast its golden hues in the winter horizon, but you rolled out your bed feeling refreshed and determined. Finally, you could resume your usual busy routine.
You uncovered your sleeping attire to reveal a nasty mark in your lower right abdomen. You frowned at the sight of the injury that managed to send you on the operating table last month and landed you on a fourteen-day leave of absence. Being constrained to the comfort of your 1LDK apartment only made you feel exhausted instead of energized. You need your bustling schedule, your lengthy to-do-list, to prevent your mind from wandering to the past you refused to revisit.
Just like any other day, you commenced your morning ritual with a quick bath and a simple breakfast before moving to your work desk to fiddle with your tablet and laptop. With 30 minutes left before departure time, you paced yourself to your room to do your make-up routine and pick out today's outfit. As today marked your return to the office, you opted for a three-piece navy pinstripe suit - your newest collection in the wardrobe. With all things set, you stormed out of your apartment with your belongings, ready to take on today's challenges.
Early morning commute was quite a breeze for you. Well indeed, you were driving instead of taking public transportation like hundreds of thousands of Tokyoites. Cruising steadily through the familiar roads, you soon arrived at your destination - a mid-sized office building in Shibuya. Bringing your black sport sedan to a stop in the parking lot, you then entered the building without minding some watchful eyes, walked into the elevator, and scanned your access card to reach the executive meeting room on the top floor.
A stunning view of morning city lights welcomed you through its floor-to-ceiling window panes. It was a view you would never get tired of looking. Your eyes were glinted with resolution as you stepped into the room to tackle a series of pre-meeting arrangements and doing all checking necessary before the meeting attendees arrived.
"Yo, (y/n)! Welcome back!" A long, raven-haired man grinned at you upon his arrival.
"Good morning, (y/n)-san. How's your wound?" A beautiful lavender-eyed gentleman warmly greeted you.
"(y/n)-san! You're finally back! We miss you!" A friendly male Beta looked happy with your return to office.
"Good morning (y/n). Glad to have you back!" A tiger-tattooed bloke lightly tapped your shoulder to greet you.
"... Good morning." A blonde Alpha coldly addressed you.
As the Executive Assistant, you replied to each of their greetings politely.
"Hoo, we finally meet the famous secretary."
"Nice to meet you, Hisho-san."
You turned around to find two new identical faces that just arrived at the meeting room.
"Good morning, Kawata Nahoya-san, Kawata Souya-san. Nice to meet you two. Please be seated. Souchou will arrive soon."
"Hmm," the elder Kawata hummed, looking disappointed yet intrigued. "you are as stiff as the rumor said."
You chose to ignore his remark as you stood by the solid wooden door, waiting for the last attendees. Soon, a short-haired Alpha entered the room, along with his dragon-tattooed right-hand man.
"Good morning, Souchou!" All present in the room stood up and bowed respectfully.
"Good morning," Sano Manjiro flatly replied as his eyes swept across the room, scrutinizing each and every one of his subordinates before turning his gaze to you. "(y/n), have you healed well?"
