_________________________________________After two cups of beverages and hours of handling a cascade of reports and requests, you finally could call it a day slightly before 7pm. You closed your laptop and set them aside to enjoy your chicken BBQ wrap dinner. You usually finished your work faster, but earlier rows of phone calls hindered you from finishing on time. Five commanders had called you regarding your exclusive assignment to the 6th division. Ironically, it was the only division whose captain hadn't make a contact to you the whole afternoon.
Finishing your dinner, you took out a clear folder sleeve from your bag and gave it a good stare. The thin document was light as a feather, but it felt like a weight on your hand. In it, contained a proposal of delicate matter that you had worked on for days during your leave of absence. But as submission time drew closer, hesitation started to creep in your thought. You were aware of the recipient's disposition towards you and today's event only worsen his feelings for you. But you had made a promise for him, and sooner or later, you needed to face him.
Mustering your resolve, you got out of your seat and drove your car to the last stop for today: a tall, modern office building in Shinjuku. Inside the almost empty lobby, the clicking sound of your low heels against the clean marble floors was following your steps as you approached the receptionist for a visitor's pass. Making your way to the elevator, you maintained your stoical expression albeit the rumbling uncertainty inside your head. Reaching the 17th floor, you turned to the direction of one office adorned with a writing of gold in a clean oakwood panel: TK & KO Corporation.
Contrary to the building's modern exterior, the office interior were leaning towards the classic design, with shades of umber and beige dominating the color palette. The hallway was empty, as most had gone home for the day. Without minding some overtime workers' watchful eyes, you knocked on the door of the private office at the end of the room.
"Come in," a voice echoed through the door. You took a deep breath and entered the dim-lighted room. It exuded authority and order, especially with two Alphas settling inside.
"Hisho? What are you doing here?" You sensed an air of confusion and annoyance from Kisaki's tone.
"I'm sorry for the intrusion," you greeted him from across his working desk.
He remain seated at his high-backed leather chair, eyes closely examining your expression. "What do you need?"
"I haven't properly said my gratitude to you for saving me last time. So, thank you, Kisaki-taichou, for saving my life."
He kept his indifference before your bow. "You're welcome. Is that all? You may leave now."
"Well...," you started to hesitate, thinking how to approach the sensitive topic to the cold captain of 6th division.
"May I speak to you in private?" you politely requested while glancing at his Vice Captain who lounged lazily in the sofa without a care in the world. He was tall - the second tallest among Toman Executives. His eyes were a glint of gold behind a pair of round glasses. His hair was black with streaks of blonde at the front. And his lips were almost always decorated with a broad, mischievous grin. But to you, his most striking feature is the kanji 'Sin' and 'Punishment' tattooed on the back of his hands.
"Hm? Something that important?" Hanma grew interested.
You stayed quiet, waiting for the captain to deliver his judgment.
"Let him be here," Kisaki answered shortly.
Although looking laid back, Hanma Shuji's loyalty towards his captain is unquestionably solid, so Kisaki put great amount of trust in his vice-captain.
