Walls Between Us (Vanitas x Reader) Vol. 3

Chapter 8: Onichan

While getting ready for school, Lila receives a message from her first mother informing her that there is breakfast on the table, lunch in a bag, and dinner in the fridge. She also promises to try to be available over the weekend.

Lila then walks to school and on the way there is met by Nino, who notices that she seems down and asks her what's wrong.

Lila assures him that she's fine and she's only upset because her mom had invited her to an embassy meeting but she had to turn her down due to all the homework she has as a result of her missing school. She also claims that she had asked Vanitas and Adrien for help but is confident that he has now forgot and that she doesn't want to ask again as he may think she's in love with him.

Nino offers to ask the two brothers for her, and Lila instantly agrees, thanking him.

After school, Adrien approaches. "Hey, Lila. Nino told me about your problem. I can still help you with your schoolwork if you want."

"No problem, Lila. Happy to help."

Alya notices Marinette crawling towards Lila and Adrien and confronts her. "Marinette~."

Marinette gasp and quickly makes up a lie. "I was so not spying on Lila. I was just... tying my shoes."

"You've got nothing to worry about. Nino told me Lila said she definitely doesn't have the hots for Adrien." Alya smiles, unknowing that Lila heard them.

"Why don't we go to your place to do our homework? It would be so much quieter, would it?"   Lila suddenly suggests, regaining Alya and Marinette's attention.

"My father would never agree to that." Adrien cringes. "And Besides I'm already doing it with Vanitas and (Y/n)."

"I bet you I can change his mind." Lila grabs Adrien's arm and runs out the classroom.

Marinette pokes up from her hiding spot with a jealous frown, quickly chasing after them.

"Marinette! Wait!" Alya chases after her.

Vanitas tap his shoes when he sees Adrien with the pretender. He has a feeling that Lila is up to no good again. Lila prepares to enter their car but is stopped by their bodyguard unaware of who she was.

"Is this a bad time to meet up?" You asked Vanitas when you approached. Normally, you and him would go to your place after school to study and hang out playing duel monsters, so seeing Lila there, she is whispering in Gorilla's ear was completely un-ordinary.

"Seems like Adrien is helping with school work like we are....apparently she's behind as well.." Vanitas grunts, barely hiding his annoyance.

"I see, maybe we could always do this tomorrow. It's not that I'm craving for attention." You chuckle and prepare to leave.

Vanitas locks his fingers with yours. "No, but I'm craving for your attention so you're not going anywhere but home with me." he charms you with his smirk.

You blushed and look away when he chuckles how red you turn so easily.

Gorilla's attention is grabbed away once he sees you. He quickly disregards Lila and opens the car door for you with a barely visible smile.

"Thank you sir, here on the house." You smiled back handing him egg tarts, before sliding into the car and Vanitas slides in after you.

Before Lila could get in, Gorilla slams the door closed, still unaware of why the girl was here, sending bad vibes from her.

"Pfft! There's no way Adrien's bodyguard will let her in the car." Marinette is sure that Placide I.T. won't let Lila into the car; however, much to her shock, he does. "Seriously?!"Marinette prepares to run after you.
