Chapter 22: Cat Blanc

Meanwhile at Trocadéro, the girls wait for Marinette to come back from giving a gift to Adrien for his fifth name's day.

"Today's the day, I can feel it!" Alya is confident that she'll do it,

"Bet you my skates she won't do it." Alix is sure Marinette  won't as she bargains.

"And I'll bet my favorite unicorn plush that she will!" Rose challenged.

"She's here." You announced as The girls then spot Marinette coming back and see that she didn't deliver her gift, much to their disappointment.

"I was thinking maybe Adrien doesn't like berets, or what if he hates it when people celebrate his fifth name's day? Or... maybe he wouldn't want to know that I love him?" Marinette expresses her doubts.

Alix sticks her hand out to Rose. "Don't worry, Princess Twinkle Peach will be happy with me."

Rose hands her unicorn plush to Alix

"The only way you'll know is to tell him how you really feel!" Alya confronts her.

"I know, but..." Marinette reaches for something in a picnic basket but Rose shuts it.

"That's it, Marinette! No more picnics, sleepovers, or going to the movies with us until you give him that gift! You made that hat for Saint Athanasius Day, which is today! How is Adrien's supposed to know you're thinking of him on his fifth name's day if you don't give him your gift?"  Rose firmly scolds her.

"She's right. Today is the day!" Alya encouraged.

"Go, go, go, go, go, go!" All the girls except you didn't chanted because you had this ugly feeling that something bad is about to happen.

"Rise and shine! Behold, the goddess of self-confidence has awakened!" Mylène shouted.

Giving Marinette the motivation she needs to follow through as she runs up the stairs as your friends are still chanting.

"And don't forget the card!" Alya added.

She heads to the Agreste mansion, by taking the Subway tunnel.

"Are you really gonna do this?" Tikki asked.

"I am, Tikki, and you know what I won't take for an answer?" Marinette replies.

"No."

However, once she arrives at the mansion, she learns from Nathalie on the intercom that Adrien isn't home.

 "Okay, well, um... Uh, when will he be back?" Marinette almost deflated.

"I can't tell you. Goodbye, young lady." Nathalie doesn't know and hangs up.

Marinette is perplexed so she checks her phone. "But Adrien's fencing class ended 27 minutes ago! He should be back by now!"

"Maybe you can give him his present tomorrow at school?" Tikki suggests but remembering what Rose had said.

"No. You heard what Rose said. I can't back out again. Since he's not back yet, I can go through the window!" Marinette decides to sneak the gift into Adrien's room as Ladybug.

"Oh, no no no! You know it's not a good idea to use your powers for personal reasons." Tikki is against Marinette using her powers

"I'll be quick, Tikki, no one will ever know!" Marinette promises and  runs past the bodyguard's car not noticing that Adrien saw her as he smiled. Vanitas on the other hand had a suspicious look and glared at her.
