Chapter 13: Starstrain

After another successful mission, and by successful, Vanitas  did all the work sabotaging Marinette's pride and  returns the Fox Miraculous to Master Fu.

"Great work, Vanitas. Thanks to you, Parisians can rest easy tonight."

"I can't wait to do the same." Vanitas yawns and bids. "Good night, Master."

"Van, you forgot to mention the school field trip." Echo reminds.

Vanitas shrugs. "It's not like I'll be able to go anyway."

"What field trip?" Master Fu asks him about it.

"The whole class is taking the train to London tomorrow to see Big Ben. But if Hawk Moth creates another one of his followers, Adrien won't be able to capture the Akuma on his own, which means one of us foursome have to stay. Too bad, tough life of a anti-superhero, besides I'm too exhausted to go anyway." Vanitas explains

"Wait, the Horse Miraculous can be used to teleport back to Paris in the event of an Akuma situation." Master Fu hands him the Horse Miraculous.

"Huh, interesting." Vanitas unfolds the shades.

"Sapphire definitely deserves a bit of fun, just like all young people his age."

"If I could have some fun with her." Vanitas whispers and left the room back to home.

The next day, after his bodyguard drops him and his brother off at school, Adrien secretly heads to the train station with Vanitas, believing that since Hawk Moth already struck once, he won't strike again. Plagg secretly agrees with that idea, finding the thought of being on vacation and away from akumas exciting.

You and your friends step out of a taxi. In another car, Max's mom, Claudie Kanté, checks her smart watch.

Claudie looks at her smartwatch for any messages but finds none. With a sigh, she gets out of the car and offers to show a sneak peek of the Startrain's operator cab, immediately becoming cheerful. "Who wants a sneak peak of the Startrain's operator cab!"

Everyone cheers excitedly.

"Thanks, Mrs. Kanté, this will make an awesome exclusive for my astronomy blog!" Alya comments.

"You've started "another" blog?"  " you asked.

Alya shrugs like it's no big deal. "I can't help it, life is so interesting!"

"Hey! Isn't that Adrien?" Marinette spotted the two Agreste brothers running at full speed.

Marcov uses his built in camera to zoom in, confirming that the guy approaching them is indeed Adrien and Vanitas. "Affirmative, Marinette. That is indeed, Adrien and Vanitas Agreste!"

"There was less than a point two three percent chance his father would allow him to come." Max adjusts his glasses.

"Alya! This trip is gonna be amazing!" Marinette dreamily leans on her shoulder.

Noe and Nino arrived from the bus until Noe spotted Vanitas. "Vanitas! What are you doing here?"

"Getting all bored with sticking around in the house with just Adrien. Some of us gotta have fun  going on school field trips." Vanitas smirks.

"You're disobeying him?" Noe is flabbergasted.

Vanitas huffs and cross his arms. "Why would I? I would never tell him about this one!"

"That's sneaky smart. (Y/n) is so going to be happy seeing you." Noe approves when Vanitas smiles a bit knowing he could spend his activities with you.
