22. The Destination I seek

I've walked a great deal
So far ahead
I seemed out of sight
The path I walked was new
No one had walked it before
For I carved the path myself
With my feet I engraved the ground
With my feet to make the path

The destination was no mystery
I knew where my feet headed
The path I walked was treacherous
The journey itself was adventurous
I felt my soul suffer on the path
As my soles wore off underneath
I kept walking forward on the path

The path I walk has meaning
So I walk it while beaming
With happiness and conviction
I take the next step
Ahead I move forward
Until the destination I reach
Is the last step I take

I fell countless times on the path
My fall was comical
To those with mouths
To talk
And those with eyes
To see
And those with ears
To listen
As I arose each time
Without fail to walk
On the path I seek

Shamed and shunned I was
By friend and foe alike
The path I walked was odd
By their eyes and hearts
I was lost on the path
Unshakable and courageous
I was for I knew
That the path lead
To the destination I seek
