Thousand years

I have died everyday waiting for you

Darling, don't be afraid

I have loved you for a thousand years

"Come on. Follow me." The little girl giggles as she held her new neighbors hand and pulls him into her little hide out. He follows her with curiosity and nervousness. They both trip on a stick and scratch their knees yet the blood doesn't bother them. They jump over twigs as if they are hurdles and dodge leaves as if they poisonous.

Their path turning more adventurous, a bit risky yet they don't stop till they reach the oldest tree there. A beautiful, pink flowered tree. They didn't know which flower was it but it was different from all the others around it. The trees branches hung low and if he reached on his tippy toes, he could reach a few.

She ran below the tree and twirled, gesturing him to come over. He looked at the girl awestruck and maybe in love. The kind of love that a teeny tiny heart of a 3 year old. The purest form of love that is there.

He ran to her when she began calling him out and when she wasn't looking, he reached up and shook a branch as hard as he could. For the tree it was a gentle shake but it obliged the little boy's adorable request and rained down a few of its flowers on her.

The girl who was giggling while talking to her new friend felt a petal gently sit on her face. It was followed by a few more and the smile that took over her face made his heart beat faster. She looked up and then at him with joy. She blinked and twirled faster. A bit too fast but her excitement was justified.

If one day you call yourself

Using my voice

The poem that is in hidden in you

I'll recite that for you

"Do you know how dangerous is your smile?" He asks the girl sitting besides him with a first aid kit. She looks up at him with an angry face. Why wouldn't she be? He had fought with the boys in her class again. Just because she smiled at them and so they thought they could tease and harass her for that.

"If I had a heart, it would fall for you." She looks up at him in surprise. A soft blush covers the 12 year old's face as she slowly applied the ointment on his bruises.

"You have a heart too you know." She mummers, hiding her face behind the locks while treating his blood covered knuckles. He uses the same hand to tilt her face up. She looks at him with a small smile, a bit of concern and anger still hidden in those depths.

"I gave it to you a long time ago." She pouts and pushes his chest. He holds his above where she hit and hunches dramatically.

"Owww." She looks over in worry for a moment before rolling her eyes and rashly putting the bandage on his hand before jumping up to escape him.

"Want to meet at the hang out spot today?" He asks just before she leaves. She nods and runs away, unable to look at him or else her heart won't stop beating this fast.

And I've heard of a love that comes once in a lifetime
And I'm pretty sure that you are that love of mine

"Nathan! Where are you?" She groans and searches while barging into the empty house. Everything seemed as if it was never decorated with 14 years of love and memories. She searched and searched, opening every door and checking every corner. She finally stopped at his room. It was a promise she made, to never open that door.
