AFTER CHANGING into a fresh batch of clothes from his penthouse, Warren was on his way to the empire with Omar. To keep himself busy, he scoured the internet, looking for articles that disclosed his whereabouts last night and how drunk he'd gotten.

However, after spending a few minutes scrolling through his phone, he found nothing.

"That's strange..."

"Boss? You said something?"

Warren brought his gaze forward and locked eyes with Omar through the rear view mirror. He turned his phone off and threw Omar a questioning look.

"Omar, have there been any articles about my whereabouts last night?"

Omar stepped on the break slowly as they approached a red light. "No, sir. Is there a problem?"

Warren shakes his head. "No. I was just wondering. The media always knew where I was in the past, may it be for trivial matters or the opposite—they're always breathing down on my neck."

He pinched his bottom lip as uncertainty crossed his face. "I guess it felt weird that none of them was present last night."

"Wasn't that supposed to be a good thing, sir?"

"It is a good thing. Just strange," Makahulugan ang tinig na ginamit ni Warren.

"I think it was actually great that none of them showed up at the restaurant last night. Who knows what kind of twisted story those vultures would make if they knew you were out drinking until you passed out?"

Warren's head immediately snapped in Omar's direction. Unaware of Warren's scrutiny, Omar put the car into gear, moved the lever, and pressed on the accelerator as the light turned green.

"How did you know about that?" Warren's voice was barely audible; his heart started racing inside his chest.

"Mr. Iven called your father last night. He informed Mr. Matthew about your situation and how they—"

The horror that shadowed Warren's face was as quick as lightning.

"You idiot! Why didn't you tell me that my father knew what happened to me last night?!" Warren's voice was like the waves you saw on coastal cliffs—harsh and strong.

Omar flinched at Warren's sudden outburst. The hairs on his skin stood as he met Warren's blazing eyes again. "Sir... I thought it wasn't something importan—"

"Important?" Warren cut him off, his jaw clenched hard. "How could you be so stupid? That's my father we're talking about! Everything that concerns him is important, Omar! Fucking hell!"

Every muscle in Warren's body was tensed, and his rage was boiled into a steady hundred degrees. Omar's words kept ringing inside his head, making the veins in his temples throb annoyingly.

After a while, the penny dropped, and the rage in Warren's body turned into apprehension.

Wait, is that why Father asked me to come to the empire? No... That's not all.

What if there were actually articles about me last night, but he intercepted it before it even had the chance to spread?

Fuck! If that's true, then he cleaned up my mess again.

Meanwhile, Omar remained quiet and ignored the tight knot in his stomach. Every nerve in his body was jumping in fear, but he reined it all in. He knew it's not wise to act on that fear when Warren was seconds away from exploding like a bomb.
