Trigger Warning: Mention of suicide

Sixteen

IT'S BEEN AN hour since David agreed to Warren's suggestion. Since then, they've been exchanging mundane questions. Hobbies. Educational Backgrounds. Dislikes. Birth places. Favorites.

Basically, the boring stuff you asked when you're trying to get to know a person.

The only challenge Warren encountered during those moments was the fact that he had to act surprised when David told him about all of those things.

Warren knows David would punch him in the face if he told him he knew all about those things already. Or that he hired someone to get that information for him.

So to keep his precious face safe, Warren just went with the flow of the conversation.

"So how long have you been friends with the blond guy? The short one," Warren asked in a curious tone.

David shifted on his seat and fixed his gaze to Warren, who was sitting across from him at the round table. They're still at the terrace.

"You mean Riley?"

"I guess," Warren murmured in his normal, detached tone. "Was that his name?"

David gave him a flat look. "He literally introduced himself to you last time, Warren."

Warren shrugged his shoulders off. "Well, I have a habit of forgetting things I deem unimportant."

David laughed and gently kicked Warren on the leg. "Does that mean you'd forget everything I've told you tonight?"

Warren frowned and shook his head. "No. Those things you've told me were important. I need them to know you better."

David waggled his eyebrows. An impish grin ghosted his pink lips. "Aww, is that your way of saying that I'm an exception?"

"Yes, David," Warren answered without so much of a blink. "You are an exception."

David giggled. "Stop, you're making me blush here, my lord."

A slight quirk appeared on the corner of Warren's lips. "So silly."

"So silly," David reiterated, and he mimicked Warren's deep voice.

Warren rolled his eyes. "You're really a barrel of laughs, aren't you?"

"What can I say? I have a great sense of humor," David said, and he had a smug look on his face.

Warren shakes his head and acts like he's so done with David's naughtiness, when in reality he's enjoying every second of it. Also, Warren's fed-up expression would've been believable if he wasn't smiling at David.

"Ano ulit yung tanong mo kanina?"

"Your friendship with Riley? How long was it?"

There's that indifferent tone again. David thought.

David gave him a weird look. "Sigurado ka ba na gusto mo talagang malaman? You sound apathetic when you asked about it."

"Oh, sorry." Warren's cheeks turned slightly pink. "I'm not good at these types of things. You know, asking personal questions."

David leaned across the table and gently flicked Warren's forehead. Warren winced, and he jerked back in surprise.

"I was just kidding, Warren. I know we're all adjusting here," David said truthfully.

Warren nods as he rubs his forehead. His expression was still timid. "Just don't hesitate to call me out if I did something to offend you, okay?"

"Oh, I would never hesitate." Mayabang na sagot ni David.
