It took a while to convince and to run the paperwork for me quitting but two days after the incident I was on a plane back to London, not at all regretting my decision. They had told me though that in case I wanted to come back, that the spot was still available so maybe after Jude's contract ended I'd come back.
On the flight I constantly got messages from the teammates saying they miss me already, which made me cry and reply, saying I miss them too, which was nothing far from the truth, but I knew if I spent another minute there I might actually have blood on my hands.
As I saw London in view, I already felt more at home, excited to see Bukayo and Erica. I wished Lorenzo was there too but he was fully aware of the situation and told me he'd send Jobe to lecture Jude, also sending multiple death threats himself.
The moment the plane landed, I saw my motorcycle already standing in front of the plane, appreciating the team for their priorities. My luggage would be sent to my house and i didn't waste anytime getting on my bike, speeding off through the streets, immediately feeling relaxed.
Midway through my driving session I got a message from another job I applied to, accepting me for one of the positions.
Happier than before, knowing I would at least get some more money, I kept driving for a few hours until my petrol was almost out, going back home at last, relieved to be in my house again.
When I reach to open the door though, it swings open by itself. I exclaim as I'm being pulled in, someone's arms wrapping around me. Immediately by their scent I know it's Amara.
She'd been my best friend in school for while and only recently moved to London for uni so I was beyond surprised to see her in my house.
"Amara? What are you doing here?"
"I wanted to surprise you! Jobe told me what happened and I had a day off so what better to do than visit my best friend," she says, walking with me to the kitchen.
"Thanks, but really it's not that big of a deal, I'm used to it by now. I just hated the fact that he shouted it in front of everyone," I explain.
"Look, don't think about it too much alright, what do you say we go out tonight?" she suggests, with a mischievous smile plastered across her face. I slowly agree with her with a refrained smile, giving her the answer. she then claps her hands and runs upstairs, probably to go raid my closet for something to wear.
After clearing out my drawers and finally finding our outfits, doing our hair and each others makeup, we left the house to go party. Taking an uber, we arrived at the clubs, surprised when I saw two of my other best friends standing at the entrance.
"Kayo! Erica!" I yelled, running up to them, engulfing them in a hug.
"Oh my gosh, Kayo why are you here?"
"Ouch," he says, holding his heart, stumbling, "I just thought you could use some fun and Erica called me after Amara called her," he continues, returning another hug.
"Well stop lurking around here lets party!" Amara yells, leading us into the club. The moment I step inside, I'm met with the smell of alcohol and the sound of hundreds of people screaming to the music.
The whole night I got wasted, trying to get my mind off Jude and thankfully it helped. At the end of the night I could only thing about my friends and how lucky I was to have people like them stick by my side through everything.
